Thursday, June 23, 2011. I walked into a bookstore a few days ago and saw my book, this book, on a shelf for sale. I wonder if that effect will wear off with the coming of my other books? I’m enjoying summer vacation at the moment, but I’ll be back in the next couple of weeks with some great pictures of an actual pioneer kitchen. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The other day one of my fabulous neighbors brought me over a very large bowl of ripe raspberries fresh from their garden. I debated between making a pie or a cobbler, but it was a very hot day so I was overruled when my husband said “Why don’t you make some ice cream? The kids cheered and that was the end of that discussion. Raspberry ice cream was made (I’ll post that soon too). SO I made an executive decision and decided that we needed some homemade jam. 10 cups raspberry puree*.

Wednesday, June 15, 2011. During the summer months, we love to grill. Turkey burgers are a real treat for us, and we love to serve these with fries. These grilled potato fries are amazing. Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside and perfectly seasoned with the "I just came off the grill" taste. Plus, there's no need to heat up your oven during those hot summer months! All you need is a grill basket or grill sheet you can place on the grates of your grill to make these potato fries. Sea salt, to taste.

A Brief History of The Pioneer Fund. The Pioneer Fund was established in 1937 by Wickliffe Draper (1892-1971) and endowed for the support of research into human nature, heredity and eugenics. In August 2012 Philippe Rushton transferred half the assets of the Pioneer Fund to the Charles Darwin Research Institute, of which he was the president.
