Design By Perrine: August 2009
http://designbyperrine.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Creating an artful life. Thursday, August 6, 2009. This month, Kristi Zeven bergen. Made a presentation at the NWPCG. Meeting. We saw slides of her work as it has developed over time. She talked to us about how she incorporates her life and psychological processes into her jewelry making process. It's great to listen to someone who is so aware of how who she is, is expressed in what she does. In it, he talks about how you can begin to decode the language of the dream. Patricia Perrine, PhD. Creating an artful life. Saturday, June 11, 2011. Coming up with a polymer curriculum. Members of the NW Polymer Clay Guild ask me: How do I know if I'm ready to take Jill or Jane or John's polymer workshop? The problem is that there are no clear definitions of what constitutes a beginner, or intermediate or advanced clayer. So I started to de-construct the problem. What are the skills I use to make my polymer creations? We will have three basic levels: apprentices, journeyers, and masters. This term...

Design By Perrine: Polymer craft supplies
http://designbyperrine.blogspot.com/2012/03/polymer-craft-supplies.html
Creating an artful life. Wednesday, March 14, 2012. As I'm pinching every penny, I've had my eyes peeled (ouch! The second find was at the Dollar Tree Store. They currently have wooden craft boxes for a buck a piece. The ones I got were 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 2. The hinging is sometimes a bit off, but they have the clever magnet close. They'll require some sanding and other finishing techniques, but I think they will be very worth-while. I'll let you know if I find other deals! Patricia Perrine, PhD.

Design By Perrine: July 2009
http://designbyperrine.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Creating an artful life. Saturday, July 18, 2009. One constant in my life is that I like to learn new things. I often forget how much I do, until I find myself in conversation with someone. My friend Carole is in town from Texas, and I mentioned some of the many jewelry classes I've taken over the last year. They add up! I've learned about etching metals, adding color to copper (with colored pencils), how to use a rolling mill, and more. From beginning to the end. Then I remember that workshops are about...

Creating an artful life. Friday, October 19, 2012. Inspirations - part 1. I was asked where I get my inspiration, and these days, much of it comes from looking at Pinterest. If you haven’t checked it out, take a look at my various boards: http:/ pinterest.com/drcre8ive/. Clouds, Lake Superior by Lawren Harris. I also thought more about my long-standing inspirations. I grew up in an artist’s household (my mom) and remember as a child leafing through huge art history books. Metchosin by Emily Carr. This is...
