the practical gourmet: greek frittata

http://thepracticalgourmet.blogspot.com/2010/01/greek-frittata.html

Thursday, January 21, 2010. I don't have a photo for this recipe, but don't let that prevent you from giving it a try. this is a fast, easy mid-week dinner, and the fact that it falls into our "weekly vegetarian meal" makes it even better. Don't think for a moment though that the vegetarian label means it's not full of flavor. the banana peppers and feta cheese keep it tangy. serve this alongside a simple salad of mixed greens with your favorite low fat dressing for a healthy weeknight meal. Meanwhile wh...

the practical gourmet: lack of appetite

http://thepracticalgourmet.blogspot.com/2010/04/lack-of-appetite.html

Tuesday, April 6, 2010. You may have noticed a shortage of new recipes on the blog lately. and that's because the cooking i have been doing is rare, and very simple. i've had a severe lack of appetite lately, and also i'm really tired all of the time. It's probably due to the little bun i'm busily cooking in my oven.that's right, i'm due november 9th! The baby is only set to take it all out of me for the next few weeks, and once that's passed, i promise some new recipes for my faithful readers. Sweet bal...

the practical gourmet: greek pasta

http://thepracticalgourmet.blogspot.com/2010/07/greek-pasta.html

Thursday, July 22, 2010. Well, i took a picture of this, but it doesn't look very appetizing, so i'm choosing to post this sans photo. This is a really simple dish featuring some of my favorite things, including my go-to vinaigrette (which is really a vinaigrette by the late, great gourmet magazine). it's fast, easy, and uses a lot of pantry items you may already have on hand. it would be great for dinners or for a picnic as it would do well at room temperature. 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil.

It's Not Chicken: Avocado

http://itsnotchicken.blogspot.com/2009/01/avocado.html

Saturday, January 31, 2009. The avocado has puzzled me for some time now. I feel like it came out of nowhere and suddenly everyone and their mother was eating. Is there an avocado promotion board somewhere that brought this about? They sliced it up and put it on a plate for the team to share, so I decided it was time for me to bit the bullet and go for it. Salt an pepper. Also Salt 'N Peppa. Shoop! What I Don't Like:. Avocado. normally. Although I will sometimes take small tastes of guacamole.

What’s for dinner? | The Suburban Guerrilla Gardener

https://gpfdesign.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/whats-for-dinner

The Suburban Guerrilla Gardener. My quest for produce. Walk me out in the morning dew…. What’s for dinner? May 18, 2009. If only dinner came out this good every night. Step 1. Throw some chicken, squash, onion, asparagus, whatever on the grill. Hot off the grill. I had marinated the chicken in teriyaki for about an hour. Mixed in some sesame seeds. My new santoku knife is bad ass. Almost a little too sharp. Like it would cut your finger off and you wouldnt even feel it sharp. Plated up for my princess.

Saturday, January 31, 2009. Fried foods. to a degree. I refuse to eat a deep-fried Twinkie or Oreo. they are too good on their own and it seems like a bastardization to fry them. The Monte Cristo sandwich, on the other hand. now THAT is food improved by boiling oil. What I Don't Like:. Fava beans and chick peas. although I do enjoy the hummus-state of the chick pea. Who Made Me Try It:. Why, that would be C-Meri! Told you I would give you credit girl.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

notorious m.i.a.: February 2009

http://notorious-mia.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Notorious m.i.a. Friday, February 13, 2009. I love Stephen Colbert for many reasons. One being that he has the same birthday as me. Which obviously makes him awesome. Because only cool people are born on May 13th. Other examples: my friend Ashley, Stevie Wonder. Mon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c. The DaColbert Code - Oscar Predictions. Colbert Report Full Episodes. Joke of the Day. Plus this makes me excited for the Oscars. Because I'm just an award show geek at heart. OK fine, I'm an all around geek. People ...

Monday, March 2, 2009. Lemon and herbs. and rice (on the side). What I Don't Like:. Creatures of the sea that rhyme with "ham on". Who Made Me Try It:. While my parents have been telling me to try it for years, this is another one that was mostly on my own. I was debating it while in line but didn't want to be "the new guy that eats wierd". Also, I overheard my colleague explaining that he might need to try it too, so I thought I wouldn't be alone. I think I was anyway. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, March 2, 2009. Pie crust and sugar. What I Don't Like:. I tend to enjoy nuts (no jokes please) but the pecan has never really been one of my favorites. If they were in a mixed nuts medley then I might eat one, but I would usually skip them for the alternatives. I don't know why, but they always make me feel like I'm eating a cockroach. is that odd? Ten Dollar Reviews: Children of Men

Saturday, May 2, 2009. Clive Owen. Julianne Moore. Michael Caine. and the underrated Chiwetel Ejiofor all carry their characters from beginning to end here. A slew of unknowns provide immaculate supporting performances that help keep the gritty borderline-documentary feel of the movie. Effects and Animation - $1. Repeat Play - $1. Shock Value - $1. Action and Ass-Kickery - $1. Ever but it's still a decent time. Enjoy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a pansy about needles and have asthma too bad t...
