- The Quilter -: Faithful Circle Redux
http://thequilter.blogspot.com/2011/01/faithful-circle-redux.html
In 2008, I attended a small quilt show in Gunnison Colorado at the Arts Center while CarGuy attended a car show. The majority of the quilts in the show were vintage quilts from the 1930s and 1940s with a sprinkling of contemporary art quilts. I snapped a photo of this sweet quilt at that show as it was quite unusual and caught my eye. About the pattern and a stack of fabrics I was using to make the quilt. I never even connected the fact that I had a photo of a completed quilt plus the pattern! I would us...

- The Quilter -: Proportion Scale Wheel
http://thequilter.blogspot.com/2015/08/proportion-scale-wheel.html
This is an odd tool that I use in my sewing room. It is my old proportion wheel from the days when I did technical illustration. Handy tool, this. Why did I use this when I have quilting software that will do the job for me? Because I am not making a quilt. I am making a Schlepp Bag. It was easy to convert all the other measurements until I got to cutting the lining. Um, the pattern called for 22.25" squares. What do I cut? It covers from .12" all the way up to 90". If you put the smaller number ...That ...
- The Quilter -: Happy Mother's Day!
http://thequilter.blogspot.com/2015/05/happy-mothers-day.html
It is Mother's Day when all children celebrate their mother. Did you call your Mom yet? I spent the day sewing. I finished this top and started to 'build' the backing. I am using all the left-over fabric from the top. I suppose you could say that it will almost be reversible. This is a horrible cell phone pic. Sorry. I need to figure out a quilting design. For some reason I keep thinking grapes. Maybe because the fabrics remind me of a Merlot wine? That is a BEAUTIFUL quilt. Love the colors! This Quilt o...

Welcome to my cottage where I play and create with fabric, paints and anything else that comes to mind. I hope you enjoy the visit and return again soon! Thursday, January 8, 2015. Well, I took a couple of weeks off because of Christmas and New Year and when I walked back into my studio the other day I saw this. My embroidery thread was all over the floor.
