Saturday, 28 April 2012. The reduction gear in all its glory. Off with the rear shoes. Drain oil first. Not much left in this unit. This allows the threaded retainer to be unscrewed. The seal is a push fit item in side the retainer. Time to split the halves. With the halves apart I can remove the drive shaft to get at the bearings and seals. One bearing down three to go. This one is 40mm outside 17mm inside 12mm thick. 6203 C3 Open SKF from Bearingboys. 6203 C3 Open SKF from Bearingboys. All paint off re...

Triumph Tina: December 2011
http://triumphtina.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 December 2011. Triumph Tina the beginning. This blogg should have started last year as I have had this scooter since March 2011 from a guy called Mike from Worksop. I saw an add in a scooter magazine "1962 Triumph Tina 100cc with log book £300 ono". I text him to ask, was he open to offers and had a quick reply YES. So the next day I drove up north to pick up all the bits. Again I had acquired a large pile of (strange to me) bits. OK strip down time, first remove the magneto.

Triumph Tina: May 2012
http://triumphtina.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 7 May 2012. Now I have all the parts I can assemble the crank cases, crank, Piston and Barrel. All the parts assembled two bearings two oil seals and the .003 shims (home made). First thing is to put bearings in the freezer for an hour or so. First seal in on the left hand inside. Left hand out side view. Second seal on the right hand side inside view. Both bearings pressed in. First half of the crank in not forgetting the shim next to the crank. Blue seal both mating surfaces. Sunday, 6 May 2012.
