The Kaizar Dispatch: May 2010
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Monday, May 31, 2010. Combine the Academy of Country Music 2010 Duo of the Year "Brooks and Dunn", with up and comer Jason Aldean, a bunch of Ohio cowboys, and large amounts of Coors Light, and you have yourself quite a show. Last weekend I worked with the Red Cross at the Last Rodeo concert, the final tour for Brooks and Dunn. Country music definitely has a big following, even in places like Ohio. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Race for the Cure. From Lila by Rob...

The Kaizar Dispatch: The Strawberry Statement by James Kunen
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2011/06/strawberry-statement-by-james-kunen.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Sunday, June 19, 2011. The Strawberry Statement by James Kunen. I have been reading a book written in 1968 by a nineteen year old student at Columbia University. He was involved with the takeover of administration buildings to protest University involvement in military research among other things. It is an interesting read, more than anything because it is the product of a funny, smart kid. Some choice quotes:. Commenting on the importance of student opin...

The Kaizar Dispatch: 2011 Doo Dah Parade
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2011/07/2011-doo-dah-parade.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Monday, July 4, 2011. 2011 Doo Dah Parade. Today was the 28th Annual Doo Dah Parade, right through my neighborhood. As best described by the Short North Gazette:. Over the crest of the hill, a flash of light reflects off a tiara. A kazoo rings through the still summer air. Huzzah, they have come! Quick, before they change their minds, the parade takes off! Oh, but look at the time! It is only 12:40! Transportation Security Administration - lots of groping.

The Kaizar Dispatch: Cooking it up Tajine Style
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2011/06/cooking-it-up-tajine-style.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Saturday, June 11, 2011. Cooking it up Tajine Style. Last weekend I tried out a Berber Tajine Vegetable Dish. It consisted of layers of onion, potatoes, turnips, zucchini, tomoto, and carrots with lots of spices. After two hours of cooking, the vegetables were soft and very flavorful. The ginger, pepper, cumin, rosemary, and thyme (from Elly's garden! Really came through. Elly gave two thumbs up. Fresh baked bread serves as a good side.

The Kaizar Dispatch: Eating my way through Asia
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2011/03/eating-my-way-through-asia.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Saturday, March 26, 2011. Eating my way through Asia. While my trip to Japan and China was short, I did have some great food. I try to eat what the locals eat when I can, and on this trip I had some really interesting, unique food experiences. Below I feature some of my favorite food. Walking from work to the hotel the next day I stopped by a woman cooking potstickers at the side of the road. These dumplings were being made fresh, boiled then fried...

http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2011/03/asakura-tokyo-japan.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Asakura, Tokyo, Japan. I had the opportunity to spend Sunday afternoon strolling around a very interesting neighborhood of Tokyo called Asakura. Asakura is the best approximation of what Tokyo looked like hundreds of years ago, with narrow streets and tiny stores surrounding beautiful temples. Here is a tour of my experience in Asakura. At the end of the street you pass a traditional Japanese garden designed in the 17th century f...

The Kaizar Dispatch: September 2010
http://kaizardispatch.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Searching for the paradise that no longer exists. Sunday, September 26, 2010. The Salt Cave, Birdie Hotel, Pardubice, CZ. The Salt Cave is a man-made room with salt encrusted on every surface. Some strategically hung strings of Christmas lights complete the atmosphere. Apparently it is pretty popular. So popular that I never got in to see it since there was always someone in treatment. I stole these pictures from the hotel web site. Salt is more precious than gold, and we are ready to provide you with th...
