The Reader

Thoughts on reading, writing, and life in general. Friday, June 11, 2010. It is so hard to believe that one year ago today I posted my first blog. I’ve been a bad blogger lately, I know, but I’m going to try harder to be better in the coming months. And now, to commemorate this wonderful event, a quote from Neil Gaiman. Thanks for your support and I look forward to another great year. Monday, May 10, 2010. That I would probably just regret the whole thing. Some people reported that it was a little hard t...

The Reader: March 2010

http://thereadersthoughts.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Thoughts on reading, writing, and life in general. Thursday, March 25, 2010. How do you say it? For any writer working in with a second language in their books one problem almost always comes up front pretty early… pronunciation. So many languages have silent letters, or letters that aren’t pronounced the same way. As a writer you want to get that across, but you want your dialogue and your narration to still sound natural and not forced. I’ve seen writers ignore it. Look at the names in many Star Wars.

Thoughts on reading, writing, and life in general. Thursday, July 30, 2009. Movies that Should have been Workshopped: Bride Wars. Movies that Should Have Been Work-shopped:. Work-shopping is when a piece of creative material is brought before a group of peers. In regards to fiction workshops, these groups read through each other’s stories to identify strengths and weaknesses in plot and character, and to make sure everything makes sense and make sure everything jives throughout the piece. Then, at some p...

The Reader: October 2009

Thoughts on reading, writing, and life in general. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. I’ve recently become a big fan of author Tamara Alexander. In the past few months I have read (I believe) all of her books thus far and I have been very impressed. Her stories are very well fleshed out, the characters are interesting, and very importantly, you don’t feel as though you’re reading the same story over and over again with different characters. Tamara Alexander’s books are so well written, they just pull you in.

The Reader's Tales

Tuesday, 10 January 2017. Hello ladies and gents. I hope that you are okay and that you had a nice weekend. Mine was excellent! On Saturday I resumed my Saturday routine (spa swimming). On Sunday, when I got up, I saw that everything was covered in white - it had snowed in my pretty little town - so I jumped out of bed and went for a walk. In fact, when it is snowing, it is not cold. It is the day before the fall of snow that it is very cold and chilly. And. I leave you with my photo gallery of that day.
