Makes all the difference. Starting the ski day off in the front yard, we had to build a kicker. J goes big. O to a test run and then was all about sticking the 180s. Old Man of the Woods was found haunting the wind swept skin track. Court ballet turns with his one arm down to his own kicker. Max wiggles his way into a soft line.

Corn is gone. Late season sweet corn on the cob. And of course, you paid late season prices. But as long as it is sugary sweet, I say it is well worth the price. As long as you picked the right ears. Those worms can do a lot of damage by November. Autumn means a lot of things, including earlier sunsets.

Warning: This post contains very few actual surfing pictures, and those are not of very exciting waves. The new New York skyline from a different Brooklyn than I recall from 20 years ago. Brooklyn clock tower. Tallest thing in the borough. Hot and humid and high tide at Wells Beach. 2PM and the surf is still clean.

Took a road trip with my son to check out a light house. We stopped to wave the surf on the way. Wide open faces begging to be carved. The lineups were not empty, but the waves were plentiful. The short period swell even threw out a few cover ups. This wave typically ends at the rock with the long period souths.

Hanging at the Hook in Santa Cruz. Some mornings are foggy, cool and small. Still a surprise to see one sneak by. The reason why I am here. Fun times with sand castles. Everyone is getting some, whether you are out on the skiff looking for fish, or on a fish looking to skiff. A fun looking section speeds off down the line.
