A life in progress. Published on May 23, 2015. Written by Rebecca Raspberry / The Rebecca Project. I could wax lyrical about loving three day weekends (and I do! But here’s three other things:. 1 Remembering to Look Up. I have been riding to and from this one particular BART station for years, and yet I have never taken the time to look up. I finally did this week and saw a beautiful glass dome allowing natural light to illuminate the platform. I love beautiful moments like that. 3 Midnites for Maniacs.

A life in progress. Published on May 4, 2015. What’s More American than Guns? Written by Rebecca Raspberry / The Rebecca Project. I received specific instructions from the Range Master to be early. Not on time, but early. He knew me too well. I was very uncomfortable being around all of these guns and this only increased when we reached the live shooting section of the day. Talk about being intimidated! 8220;Go for it,” the Range Master said. I hovered my finger over the trigger. I hesitate...There was l...

A life in progress. Published on May 4, 2015. What Goes Around…. Written by Rebecca Raspberry / The Rebecca Project. When you attend a school with a strict uniform policy, there’s very specific rules about how you conform, lest you be sent home with a note requesting immediate replacement of unsuitable item of clothing. The one thing Mum and I always fought about was shoes. And now, I am the proud owner of these babies. San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Travel Stories Expat Life. July 17, 2016. Temple of the Golden Pavilion. Was another reason we wanted more time in Kyoto. Once I realized it was one of the most popular buildings in Japan, it seemed like a shame to miss it. And yes, it was crowded. 8221; Of course, the pavilion itself was gorgeous. There just wasn’t any time or space to stop and reflect on that fact. Fortunately, we were able to grab a shady spot to enjoy some kakigori before escaping the crowded grounds. July 16, 2016. Travel Stories Expat Life. May 9, 2015. Spring at Hwaseong Fortress. Suwon’s crown jewel. A few weeks ago, Mike and I headed over to Hwaseong Fortress. On a pleasant spring afternoon. I wanted to visit Suwon’s crown jewel tourist attraction while the cherry blossoms were still sticking around. The fortress was built between 1794 – 1796 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. We enjoyed the views, walked along the walls, rang the bell, watched a beautiful traditional dance, and then finally hopped on the...

Travel Stories Expat Life. May 16, 2015. What to read on your Moroccan holiday. As I’ve mentioned before. I love reading books set in the country I am visiting. While living in Morocco, I did my best to get my hands on as many Moroccan related books as possible. It was surprisingly easy! 1 The Spider’s House. 2 The Sheltering Sky. We did our best to get out on the weekends and enjoy the sunny weather. Turns out, the rainy season didn’t really come this year. Travel Stories Expat Life. Archives for February 2015. February 15, 2015. Yesterday Mike and I got back from a 10 day trip to Nicaragua. Despite a little food poisoning, it was fantastic! I brought my Fuji Instax camera with me but only remembered to pull it out a few times. These photos from Laguna de Apoyo were my favorite. It’s always fun to see how the photos will turn out considering that the film is about 4 years old. More Nicaragua to come. PS Old Instax posts here. February 2, 2015.

Travel Stories Expat Life. April 14, 2015. Cherry Blossoms in Bucheon. Cherry blossom season was highly anticipated around here. This past weekend Mike and I headed up to Bucheon to check out the azalea festival ( see it. And came across some gorgeous cherry blossoms as well. Of course, we couldn’t resist crossing the street to stroll up and down the scenic walkway.

Where to Find Me. How to Winterize a Dress! I don’t know about you, but I love my dresses. I’m serious, I try to avoid pants as much as humanly possible. I wanted to create a video with some tips I have in to Winterize a Dress. 1) Pick a Dress that is an appropriate colour. (If you want to go crazy in Hot Pink, go for it! 2) Dress it up with tights or leggings. (If I’m wearing a black dress, I’ll add colourful tights). 4) Maxi Dresses are great to add more warmth to an outfit. I know, I know! Who else do...
