Heavy skies and a brisk wind for starters, but we've toughened up these days and we piled on our waterproofs and headed off to Inverewe garden. In Poolewe, which is a 10 mile jaunt up the road through some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK if not Western Europe. I'm not over-egging it, it still takes our breath away every time we drive the Gairloch to Poolewe road.

The arboretum has an atmosphere, the trees hang heavy with lichen and the little micro-worlds of moss sparkle in the rain. A magical place. Posted on March 8, 2015 at 3:30 PM.
