http://shredsandtatters.blogspot.com/2012/08/isewsceles.html
Thursday, August 9, 2012. I love a play on words and this next project is just that, and will be figurative, with a nod to geometry and a little bit of quilting thrown in for good measure. There's a deadline. I sure hope I can pull it off. Here's a picture of some of the major components as they stand today. She's slated to be part of the TAODA exhibit at Houston's International Quilt Festival in a couple of months. Isosceles. Get it? Thank you for stopping by. Please come back to follow my progress.

Monday, August 11, 2008. Well, I've been putting off this thing of setting up a blog. Today is the day. Monday, August 11, 2008, I launch myself and my dollmaking. out there. Why did I choose 'shredsandtatters' as my blog identity? Will instill some order in an often scattered mind. I know everyone has more to do than the time to do it in, so I'm in good company there. And really do want viewers of my work there to have a link to another spot on the web where more of my work can be seen. Okay, she doesn'...

Sunday, October 14, 2012. And sew it goes . I toyed with the title 'Celebrate Geometry.' Many quilts already do celebrate geometry. The term 'isosceles' came into focus . I remembered it from high school geometry class. Loving a play on words, I coined 'I*SEW*sceles,' and selected some fabrics from my stash of quilt prints. They were blue. 'I*SEW*sceles Blue' came to be. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One artist's perspective . In case you wondered what marsha looks like . View my complete profile.

shreds and tatters: artist statement
http://shredsandtatters.blogspot.com/p/artist-statement.html
My journey into figurative assemblage began in 1998 at a workshop on making one-of-a-kind dolls. At this workshop, I expected to learn some skills that would lead to an income stream I could generate from home by making and selling artist dolls. What I found instead was a partially open door to the figure as art. As my journey continues into this figurative art, I look for opportunities to add depictions of the coastal lifestyle which I enjoy now in the city of my birth. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

This doll is sculpted in polymer clay to illustrate the concept of the title. The figure sits in an embellished wooden shadow box and hangs on the wall from a copper hanger. His costume is hand dyed and sewn from silk and cotton. This piece is in a private collection. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 11:01:00 AM. Saturday, August 03, 2013 3:55:00 PM. JennieBellie is one of my favorite artists to watch. What interests me the most is her use of recycled materials. Having grown up dirt poor, this really appeals to me and it is SO fun to make stuff that NO ONE ELSE has. It is fun to use what you already have. So here's to you, JennieBellie. Her is her facebook link.
