There She Rides: The RearViz rear view mirror for cyclists: a review
http://www.theresherides.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-rearviz-armband-mirror-for-cyclists.html
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Thursday, 31 October 2013. The RearViz rear view mirror for cyclists: a review. A while back I tried the CyFy WristView mirror for size. If you're interested, you can read my review of that product here: http:/ theresherides.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/cyfy-wristview-mirror-review.html. My RearViz unit arrived safely in its sturdy box. There are two versions of the RearViz at launch: the Classic and the Standard. I ...
There She Rides: Cycling in Kerala - Fifty Shades of Green
http://www.theresherides.blogspot.com/2015/02/cycling-in-kerala-fifty-shades-of-green.html
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Monday, 23 February 2015. Cycling in Kerala - Fifty Shades of Green. I had heard that Kerala was beautiful. Together with the amazing vegetarian food, that was one of the reasons I wanted to visit. Nothing, though, prepared me for the totally breathtaking scenery, nor the astonishing variety of landscape. Turning a corner, waking on a new dawn, brought a new country within a state. Rice fields at sunset. God's own ...
There She Rides: Banana Muffins - a recipe for better cycling
http://www.theresherides.blogspot.com/2013/07/muffin-powered-cycling.html
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Thursday, 25 July 2013. Banana Muffins - a recipe for better cycling. On any ride over about 10 miles, the chances of my completing it successfully (and not spending the rest of the day in bed) are increased enormously by a banana muffin. You can find my recipe for the perfect banana muffin below. 3 bananas, mashed with enthusiasm (and a fork). 2 eggs from free-range hens. A pinch of salt. Checking out traffic behi...
There She Rides: RIP Kate.
http://www.theresherides.blogspot.com/2014/09/rip-kate.html
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Monday, 22 September 2014. A few weeks have passed now, since a friend sent me a link to this story: http:/ m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-28675162. Another cyclist lost. Another senseless waste. More visions fear, of helplessness, of the awful, inevitable outcome of the impact of metal upon cyclist. This time though, it was different. It was Kate. We met at an ultra high-impact aerobics. We joined a tri...
There She Rides: CyFy WristView mirror review **
http://www.theresherides.blogspot.com/2013/09/cyfy-wristview-mirror-review.html
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Saturday, 7 September 2013. CyFy WristView mirror review *. I got my hands on the CyFy WristView mirror for cyclists via Amazon's US site. The triangular pack, ready to unfold. Getting maximum safety out of the product, the snap-band is made out of high-visibility, super-reflective material. The makers claim that it makes me 200 times more visible as I wobble along the road in low-light conditions, adding omino...

:). Undertid...
The Re-Shelf | Books, informally.
My History of Reading. February 21, 2014. For this delightful Friday, nearing the end of the Olympics, I decided to do a fun post. For those DEMANDING reviews, I will probably have a review of the Cybils winner. Click to find out! Very soon. Also, that Harry Potter love triangle post will be coming along soon. But today, I want to look back upon the days of my youth. A lovely friend of mine once posed the following, paraphrased, question: What book do you think made you or defined you as a reader? What a...
There She Rides
A short, stocky, middle-aged woman's crazy determination to be part of the Olympic legacy. Monday, 23 February 2015. Cycling in Kerala - the poo expert. One of my fellow riders in Kerala was a poo expert. No mere amateur enthusiast: Johnny is a respected authority on the subject. Perhaps inevitably, his interest originated in public school. A preoccupation with bowel movements is generally found among the very elderly or the well educated. Hold my bike - I've got 30 seconds left! In the UK we talk a lot ...

ThereSheRuns | My Journey To Becoming An Athlete
My Journey To Becoming An Athlete. August 13, 2015. I went for a run tonight. The first mile was rough. It was like my legs had forgotten what they were supposed to do. Once I found my rhythm, though, it was amazing. I’m feeling better than I was earlier this week. I still have a bit of a cough hanging on, and my nose is still a bit more productive than usual, but I can generally breathe through my nose again, and I slept well last night. August 11, 2015. I have a cold. Me in bed with tissues. I was also...
There She Sews!
Sewing and Craft Projects that have emerged from the cluttered chaos that is Welmoed's sewing room. Friday, June 5, 2015. Make any dress fit perfectly in just ten minutes! A few years ago I made a gown for the annual Smithson Gala. It’s been hanging in my closet since then, and my lovely daughter Diana wondered if she could possibly try it on to see if it fit. Of course, it was too large, but certainly alterable. And in less than ten minutes, it went from loose and drab to fitted and fabulous! Tuesday, M...
There She Sews
Lest we forget…. Crocheted Remembrance Poppy. By Louise - There She Sews. I don’t crochet – it’s a well-known fact. Or rather I do, but not very often and I have to look up the stitches every time and I can’t watch TV at the same time! To all intents and purposes I am a knitter who occasionally dabbles in crochet. But for some things, I will always turn to crochet because, well it just works. This year, I thought I’d try poppies. I also added a leaf using this pattern. My husband turned one down! I’...
