Friday, April 22, 2011. Measuring Thermal Resistivity of Large Aggregate Soil. The thermal needle probe referenced in this posting is the TR-1 for the KD2 Pro. Because the TR-1 needle approximates an infinitely small diameter and infinitely long heat source, in theory, the sensor can calculate thermal conductivity/resistivity on most solid materials.
