The Rob Carmack Experiment: I Don't Trust Teenagers Who Sell Stuff

http://therobcarmackexperiment.blogspot.com/2009/12/i-dont-trust-teenagers-who-sell-stuff.html

The Rob Carmack Experiment. Thursday, December 17, 2009. I Don't Trust Teenagers Who Sell Stuff. I looked at Caroline and yelled, "ICE CREAM MAN! I dropped the box I had been carrying, and we both sprinted out into the street to meet the truck and purchase an ice cream sandwich. It was euphoric. Okay, so I was a sucker one time. That couldn't happen again, right? No thanks, neighbor kids. Take your snake oil elsewhere. I'm wise to your schemes. January 31, 2010 at 7:32 PM. February 3, 2010 at 6:46 AM.

The Rob Carmack Experiment: Reading/Writing

http://therobcarmackexperiment.blogspot.com/2009/11/readingwriting.html

The Rob Carmack Experiment. Monday, November 30, 2009. A few years ago, I heard about this thing called " National Novel Writing Month. Or "NaNoWriMo" for short. It's exactly what it sounds like. During the month of November, you are supposed to write a complete first draft of a full novel (minimum of 50,000) words. I have been wanting to try this for years, but this year I finally did. I completed my novel in 23 days with a total of 59,609 words. It's a far cry from Catcher in the Rye. The Road Not Take.

The Rob Carmack Experiment: Baby Swag

http://therobcarmackexperiment.blogspot.com/2009/11/baby-swag.html

The Rob Carmack Experiment. Thursday, November 5, 2009. I was standing in line at Starbucks in Waco this morning when one of the Hebrew professors from my seminary stepped in line behind me. He was pushing his 11 month old daughter in her stroller. I could have started a conversation with him regarding any number of topics. For example: "How is your semester going? Or "Any big plans for Thanksgiving? Or even, "How 'bout them Bears? But no. The first thing I said to the professor was this:. Yes, I did.

The Rob Carmack Experiment: October 2009

http://therobcarmackexperiment.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

The Rob Carmack Experiment. Friday, October 30, 2009. Failure Journal Entry #1: Sports. It seems like the most natural place to begin in my journal of failure would be my earliest experience with it; namely, the arena of sports. During my eighth grade year, I was on the junior high basketball team. This was not an accomplishment. Our town and school were so small that there was no system for try-outs to be on a sports team. In fact, you were required (that's right, required. Despite my lack of athletic a...

Everything I Thought I Knew Might Be Wrong...: October 2009

http://relearningeverything.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Everything I Thought I Knew Might Be Wrong. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Peter Rollins Cracks Me Up. Last week on his blog, he talked about putting the finishing touches on his new book. Then, at the end of the post, he wrote this:. In the mean time don’t forget T he Orthodox Heretic. She is very lonely in the Amazon store house and is being picked on by the Mark Driscoll books. Please consider giving her a good home! It's even funnier if you imagine the words being spoken in Rollins' Irish accent. As I re...

Everything I Thought I Knew Might Be Wrong. Monday, August 16, 2010. Alissa Wilkinson posted this on her blog recently, and I thought it was worth sharing. It's a quote from Wendell Berry. I'm sorry I don't know the original source of the quote, but here it is:. Note: the picture above is of Wendell Berry, not Alissa Wilkinson). My mind is always employed. The current thing Im baffled by is how I was lucky enough to get you! Ohhh snap that was a good one ;). August 31, 2010 at 1:35 PM.

http://relearningeverything.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Everything I Thought I Knew Might Be Wrong. Friday, April 30, 2010. Music: Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. I love the old Motown style of music. When I am in need of musical revival, I will almost always reach way back into my music collection for a little Stevie Wonder or The Jackson 5 or Sam and Dave or Aretha Franklin or Al Green.etc. So, I was incredibly happy a year or so ago to hear about Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. I had already owned Jones' previous album, 100 Days, 100 Nights. One of my othe...

The Robby Wade Blog. The Other Robby Wade Blogs Are Not To Be Trusted…. June 9, 2013. A True Story as Remembered by R.O. Wade. When younger my first dog, a collie, provided several stories and memories, one of which in particular involved a modern rope bridge over a river with small rapids. My dog, Timber, had accompanied me on a family camping trip to Fall Creak Falls, Tennessee. My mom and I procrastinated making the return trip across the water as much as we could.
