Ask The Cheese Snob: Seasonal Cheese
http://askthecheesesnob.blogspot.com/2011/12/seasonal-cheese.html
Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Thursday, December 1, 2011. A friend recently asked me about "seasonal cheese". She was surprised there was such a thing. I guess that makes sense. Most people don't realize cheeses have seasons. But, just like fruits and vegetables, they do! Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself. So, let's talk about the seasons of cheeses, and which ones are likely to be most affected by the seasons. Many cheeses have seasons, just like fruits and vegetables.

Ask The Cheese Snob: Say What?
http://askthecheesesnob.blogspot.com/2011/03/say-what.html
Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Friday, March 25, 2011. Dear Cheese Snob,. Why do they call it "cheese"? I love questions like this. Thank you for asking, because it allows us to talk about the history of cheese. According to my big Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary, the word "cheese" is derived from a few languages, but the earliest is Urdu, the language derived from those spoken in the Near East during the Mesolithic age. In Urdu, chĭz. In Anglo-Saxon, the word...

Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Sunday, December 11, 2011. A friend sent me this link. To an article about a smuggling attempt. Apparently, big cans of nacho "cheese" sauce are what the kids are using to hide methamphetamine these days. Can't blame them for trying. But, doesn't it strike you as something from an episode of Beavis and Butthead? Of "cheese sauce.". Damn you, NPR! Your headline promised the transport of "Drugs In Cheese". This isn't cheese! Links to this post.

Ask The Cheese Snob: October 2010
http://askthecheesesnob.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Thursday, October 21, 2010. What's Up With Torta del Casar? Let's take a peek inside the mailbag. Ooh! It's my first official question! And a good one, at that. Shall we? Let's go see how we can help our cheese friends today! How do I recognize a "smelly" cheese that is supposed to smell that way, and one that is just bad? That's a great question, and one that cheesemongers hear all the time: How do we know when our cheese has gone bad? This c...

Ask The Cheese Snob: November 2011
http://askthecheesesnob.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The Gold and The Larva. Two very different cheeses have been in the news lately. White Stilton might just be for you. Long Clawson wanted to do something special to celebrate their 100th anniversary, so they developed sort of a "golden anniversary" cheese. They took White Stilton and infused it with 23-karat gold leaf and Cinnamon Schnapps. They refer to it as "very unique.". Then again, people who have £60 (...

Ask The Cheese Snob: CHEEZ WHIZ 1.0
http://askthecheesesnob.blogspot.com/2011/12/cheez-whiz-10.html
Ask The Cheese Snob. Cheese can be confusing. I will explain. Sunday, December 4, 2011. CHEEZ WHIZ 1.0. This afternoon I presented a Cheese Tasting/Lecture in my home. It was a great deal of fun and my "students" had great questions and comments. This one was a lot more roomy. I live in a small apartment, but at least we didn't have to compete with people trying to find the copper cookware. Here's a picture of one of the cheese plates. Every attendee got one, of course. Annarbor.com covers Mark’s Carts. 8220;Mark’s Carts” is the name that Downtown Home&Garden owner, Mark Hodesh, came up with for the urban garden food court that is currently being constructed behind DH&G. He plans on having it finished by this April, which would time nicely with the opening of San Street’ food cart. Nothing has been signed yet, but we hope to be one of the carts stationed at Mark’s Carts. Annarbor.com writes a blip about it here:. Feed for this Entry. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

It’s shocking to Ji Hye and I that we haven’t actually traveled together- minus a small roadtrip to Windsor or Chicago. Something always comes up and we’ve always had to travel to NYC separately. We finally got the opportunity to check out some Asian restaurants on the upper west coast, including the annual Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. Continue reading ‘West Coast 2011’.
