Run Freckles Run: Random Wednesday
http://www.runfrecklesrun.com/2015/08/random-wednesday.html
I am a bit on the random side lately, so here's just a little bit of what I've been up to lately! I have been waking up at 5 o'clock in the morning in order to have enough time to yoga and meditation. At first it was very difficult to adapt to the early mornings, but now I look forward to spending my morning to this practice. It wakes me up, eases my mind, and starts my day out right! Building strength for a yoga headstand #runnersloveyoga #yoga #yogi. Jul 14, 2015 at 3:56am PDT. I am doing my first glow...

Run Freckles Run: Reevaluating my Passion
http://www.runfrecklesrun.com/2015/07/reevaluating-my-passion.html
It's been one of those weeks that I have taken step back and reevaluated my running plan. Everything will continue as it has already been scheduled, but things are going to change. I had no idea that this JFK training was going to do this to me, but I am glad that it did. So here is the breakdown of my random ideas that are coming in 2016. Another plan for next year is more trail running. In fact, I want to hit the trail for the majority of my runs. I feel like I have run every road in Washington...I eve...

The Dreaded Pooch Part 2. You may recall that I wrote an entry. A few months back about our dear friend, "The Pooch." In most cases, poor diet and exercise is the number one cause of this lower belly bulge. But for those of you who frequently make an effort to eat right and workout several days a week, may still have that annoying sag in your stomach. In some circumstances, a belly pooch may actually lie in your hips. As I explained in my previous post. Here are my results. Here is a photo that shows the...

Run Freckles Run: When 3 Meals a Day Isn't Enough
http://www.runfrecklesrun.com/2015/07/when-3-meals-day-isnt-enough.html
When 3 Meals a Day Isn't Enough. I feel like I grew up in one of the last generations where eating 3 meals a day was the rule of thumb. In fact, we were discouraged from eating outside of those designated meal times because that is where most thought weight gain stemmed from. It was considered overeating. So we had to put down the fork and wait until the next meal, which may have been 5 or 6 hours away! It should be obvious that this method encouraged weight gain, but we followed this idea for years!

Run Freckles Run: Friday Morning Trail Run
http://www.runfrecklesrun.com/2015/07/friday-morning-trail-run.html
Friday Morning Trail Run. There are two things I rarely do: Run in the morning on a weekday and run on a Friday. Today, Peter and I did both. Because we were off work, we decided to take advantage of the extra free time and get out to the AT. It was a nice change of pace. My legs were still asleep when we got there, but the run felt great! The temps were cooler and the humidity was low. Makes me crave fall weather! Also, it was gorgeous out! I wasn't so gorgeous. You can't lose your focus for a second!

Run Freckles Run: About RFR
http://www.runfrecklesrun.com/p/about-rfr.html
I became interested in the wonderful world of running back in 2009. It was an accident, really. I was researching quick ways to get in shape and I heard about High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). I was without a gym membership or home equipment. Running was my only (and least favorite) option, but it was free and you can do it just about anywhere. 2009 Turkey Trot with my dad. This time, it didn't stop there. I not only saw those few pounds melt, but my stress and anxiety were radically reduced&#...
