The Sabourin Family

Thursday, December 06, 2012. Not Here, But There. Blowing cobwebs * It's been awhile. Quite awhile! It seems blogging has become a thing of my past. Our kids are older now and have so much going outside of the home to keep me busy, not to mention a church appointment that is much more involved as well. Plus, there are so many other social media resources that we're involved in. Rest assured that we are happy, healthy and - for the most part - cheerful. God bless you and yours. xoxo. The Sabourin Family: Crock-Pot Pizza

http://thesabourinfamily.blogspot.com/2011/01/crock-pot-pizza.html

Thursday, January 20, 2011. Today I am preparing an "old faithful" in terms of our family's. It goes a long way, so there's always leftovers to send in the kidlets' lunches. 1 1/2 lb. hamburger, browned and drained. 2 lg bags Mozzarella cheese. 1 pkg sliced pepperoni. 2/3 box rigatoni or thick spiral noodles, cooked. 1 can cream of mushroom soup. 2 cans pizza sauce. Serve with fresh bread and salad. And have lots of pillows ready afterwards for the carb-overload! Linked to Somewhat Simple. Skip to My Lou.

The Sabourin Family: My Creative Space

http://thesabourinfamily.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-creative-space.html

Sunday, September 18, 2011. I'm happy to share a few pics of my creative space which doubles as the family computer room. Hubby made the shelf below almost 10 years ago. It now houses my old mason jar collection, which keep a lot of my scrapbooking supplies handy. The dresser belonged to my Husband as a child, now painted white (& a bit chippy). It makes for great storage of all my crafty supplies. The family picnic basket finds new use in colder months for more hidden storage. Thanks for stoppin' by!

The Sabourin Family: 15 Minute Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry

http://thesabourinfamily.blogspot.com/2012/01/15-minute-chicken-teriyaki.html

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. 15 Minute Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry. Love this "feed me in a hurry" meal that even the kidlets enjoy. Surprisingly (based on the usual content of prepackaged sauce mixes), the sauce is more on the sweet side, as opposed to. All you need is:. For our family of four, I used 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I used 2 pkgs. of the sauce mix because we're ". A bit saucy around here. We also have a non-stick electric wok. Which we love to use because it's such a breeze to clean.

The Sabourin Family: Chicken Casserole

http://thesabourinfamily.blogspot.com/2011/03/chicken-casserole.html

Wednesday, March 23, 2011. I tripled this recipe, ready to give away as part of our meals ministry. We want to provide practical assistance to friends, neighbours and congregants with "pop-in-the-oven" meals when they are going through a transition and/or rough patch in life (ie. birth or death in the family, illness, move, lay-off, etc.). My hubby and I first experienced this through our home church. In Ontario, shortly after we had brought home our first bundle of joy. We vowed to pay it forward. It's ...

Telling His Stories: Picking up the Pieces

http://tellinghisstories.blogspot.com/2013/09/picking-up-pieces.html

Saturday, September 28, 2013. Picking up the Pieces. The mall may be deserted and the gun fire has stopped. But the influence this day has left on people will not be forgotten. It is not only those who lost loved ones who will forever have it etched in their brains. It is also the ones who escaped that will grieve. They will need to come to terms with this experience and for a few, a lot of internal healing will need to be sought. 4 year old Portia, running to safety. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Telling His Stories: November 2013

http://tellinghisstories.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 14, 2013. Happy Birthday. Where Are My Presents? I've noticed that Nairobi is quickly becoming very Westernized in the way that Christmas is being celebrated. And I have the unique opportunity to be part of slowing that down a little. I don't want 'Christmas' to be lost forever here. None of this 'happy holidays' and don't talk about Christ nonsense. Should not only incorporate the true meaning of Christmas into their celebrations but, *gasp* centralize their celebrations on it. So thi...

Telling His Stories: September 2012

http://tellinghisstories.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 14, 2012. The Rattlesnake And The Man. This morning I woke from a dream unlike any Ive ever had before. I was with a man, one I didnt recognize from my life, who was teaching me some things as we wondered through some rooms. How to thwart the snake. . The next thing I know, I am floating. It was working, only I couldnt figure out why this man continued to stay in the corner of the room where this snake was, locked in a dance that seemed frustratingly unnecessary. . The longer we danced ...

Friday, March 22, 2013. A People Who Prayed For Peace. Well, as most of you would have heard, Kenya recently just had it's first presidential election since the horrors that took place in this country in 2007 over the last election. And much to the international media's disappointment, they had nothing to report on but peace. The day after the winner was chosen, the celebration was not for the prospective new President*, but it was a celebration of what God has done. There are no riots, no looters, n...

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. This Is Kinda Tough. Immigration has decided to decline my application for a missionary permit. I have yet to find out the reason yet, but this means that I am not YET a resident of Kenya. My tourist visa is expiring at the beginning of July and so I need to leave the country. again. Reach the shore. eventually. But I do need prayer. Please pray for provision for my going home and returning again. Labels: life is messy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some other stuff I wrote.

The Sabre and Dice: Wargaming from the Classical Period to the 41st Millenium

Friday, June 25, 2010. Terrain: St. Kevin's Church. I have always enjoyed building terrain to battle over. In fact it was the terrain section of the 3rd edition Catachan Codex that first drew me into the hobby. I had always enjoyed art and craft when I was younger and the possibility of making something that had a more practical purpose appealed to me. Varied terrain gives a much more evocative feel to things, adding a little bit more fun to one's battles. Cities of Death terrain. Friday, April 9, 2010.
