Monday, December 10, 2012. Our girl is growing up! Today, Monday, she turned 3! Sometimes I still have a hard time believing I'm the mom of three kids! They grow up so fast and are learning so much that I just can't believe it's real! Stella through this past year. Wow, Stella is stunning! Thank you God for this little girl! Monday, December 3, 2012. He amazes me with his dedication as the team swims together in the early morning. I'm talking like he gets up at 5, is out the door and at the pool at 5...

The Mezgers: June 2015
http://themezgers.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
The days may be long but the years are short. Thursday, June 18, 2015. So we had everything all planned for Maggie's 4th birthday party - bike riding at the neighborhood school playground/sport court breakfast tacos donut cake. But then THE RAINS came. We postponed until after our trip to Paris. Meanwhile, its her actual birthday and we're gone (incite parent guilt). But the grandparents took such good care of her and made her feel so special.with some help from her sibs. Birthday breakfast before camp?

Marvelous in our Eyes, but We Did Not Understand These Things at First | The Path Made by Walking

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. Marvelous in our Eyes, but We Did Not Understand These Things at First. In in our daily work and play. That question is something to sit with in Holy Saturday. Until then, I tell myself that the work is done, and it was good. It didn’t seem like enough to me, but in the Kingdom of God, who can tell? Now we wait to see where new life begins. Look, Your King is Coming. Marvelous in our eyes. The Lord’s doing is. And will do again?

Eating my Words for Breakfast | The Path Made by Walking
https://pathmadebywalking.wordpress.com/2015/04/10/eating-my-words-for-breakfast
The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. Eating my Words for Breakfast. I am 33 years old. I’ve thought about my age more often this Lent/Easter, as I’ve mourned the loss of a good gift gone wild. And willed myself to believe this. Is all still true even now as I’m terribly tempted to give up on church and just go out for breakfast on Sundays, like so many others in my generation. Thirty-three. It’s not always a cooperative act! Did he want to be healed? Resurrection is arg...

Up (in smoke) | The Path Made by Walking
https://pathmadebywalking.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/up
The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. It’s a fitting question for the liturgical season. I wonder if the disciples felt the same way. They were gathering data as the resurrected Jesus appeared among them, trying to catch up with the Messianic story that was taking shape around them. Surely they were deeply conflicted about some of this data (and who wouldn’t be, honestly). What a predicament! This past summer I stumbled upon a fascinating lecture. The Shape of the Soul.

The Word is Healing | The Path Made by Walking

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. The Word is Healing. In church and community. In one of my favorite essay. S by Cheryl Strayed, she describes a moment of being brave, fearless, and kind to her father, and he responds by bitterly calling her names and shutting her out of his life. Again. She says. Why is there no word for this feeling? It must be (Mk 12:41-43). The greatest gifts of Jesus came not only from his abundant privilege, but. If I aim to follow Christ, doe...

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. Have you ever read. La Casa de Bernarda Alba. Whenever I think of. La Casa de Bernarda Alba. But now I’m fine,. 8221; I wrote. “Redemption is something else. SomeONE else…”. And then I wrote some courageous goals, a la Tillich:. The courage to be in the most radical expression of non-being. The courage to be open-hearted. In the face of grave danger and pain. The courage to LOVE. In the most personal expression of hate. I say I wonde...

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. The point is, everyone who walks with God ends up spending some time in Egypt before making it to the promised land, as far as I can tell. 8221; only to hear “walk with me, I AM showing you.” How many times did I ask “is this. I know you felt like yelling sometimes. For all who have no idea what I’m talking about, thank you for caring, and reading my words anyway. Who I am | The Path Made by Walking

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. We do not need the grace of God to withstand crises. Human nature and pride are sufficient for us to face the stress and strain magnificently. 8221; –Oswald Chambers. I have been desperate to know. I have begged to know. Graciously, SLOWLY, I am learning. What does it look like to care for truth AND pity? To “mourn and rejoice at once, and for the same reason,” as T.S. Eliot suggests? This is what I know so far: Who I am is not.

Homemaking | The Path Made by Walking

The Path Made by Walking. A place to be and become on the walk of life. In in our daily work and play. It (the birth of Christ) is rather as if a man had found an inner room in the very heart of his own house, which he had never suspected; and seen a light from within. It is as if he found something at the back of his own heart that betrayed him into good. That’s G.K. Chesterton from. Yes, I would. I wrote back, trying not to sound too interested or, um, desperate. Where do I sign up? House of the Spirits.
