March 3, 2017. March 5, 2017. Santiago and Valparaiso: Towers and Hillsides. The most impressive thing about Valparaiso is that all the walkways and houses don’t collapse! It’s a brilliant hillside maze of tiny streets, wooden bridges, coloured steps and varied construction methods. Creatives will love this place. Street art and artesian crafts are everywhere. El Calafate: The Turquoise and the Blues – The Scouse Mouse

https://thescousemouse.com/2017/02/07/el-calafate-the-turquoise-and-the-blues

El Calafate: The Turquoise and the Blues. February 7, 2017. The first music I heard was some blues coming out of a bar near the hostel. The second was the beat of the Chacarera. I found out after chatting to a guide over a lamb BBQ lunch. He also told me about the Argentinian music called the Zamba. Not to be confused with Brazilian Samba. It is quite different in sound! Visiting El Calafate is not complete without a trip to see the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. Ushuaia: Sounds of the Seabirds.

Santiago and Valparaiso: Towers and Hillsides. March 3, 2017. March 5, 2017. The most impressive thing about Valparaiso is that all the walkways and houses don’t collapse! Santiago was like any large city with the exception of the jaw dropping mountains. I saw a fab 360 degree view from the Costanera Tower. Another place worth a visit is the fish market at Mercado Central. I tried the congrio (eel) soup with the locals. Next stop San Pedro de Atacama. Middle Chile: Volcanoes, Lakes and Beaches.
