The Sewing Attic

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. When we were choosing items for her new room she had a definite colour scheme in mind of tuquiose, aqua, green. Once all her room was dressed with all her new things it looked fresh and modern which helped me choose a fresh, simple and modern quilt design. It had to be fairly simple as I didn't leave myself much time to complete it. All of the prints are from my stash of fabrics so the only purchase was some more solid grey print and the aqua and white spot for the backing. The aqu...

The Sewing Attic: Making tomato sauce

http://thesewingattic.blogspot.com/2015/02/making-tomato-sauce.html

Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Well done Catherine, nothing beats home made tomato sauce. February 5, 2015 at 8:37 AM. My Mum made home made tomato sauce once and it was so delicious. The recipe was somewhat labour intensive so it wasnt made again. Your tomatoes look so juicy and yummy all cut up. I hope your daughter wont be too far from home. She is off to spread her wings hopefully with some sewn goodies from Mum to remind her of home. February 5, 2015 at 10:23 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Sewing Attic: Simply hand-stitched.....

http://thesewingattic.blogspot.com/2015/04/simply-hand-stitched.html

Monday, April 20, 2015. These 3 hand-stitched cushion covers have been freshly added to my new shop/label "Inez and James" which is all about simplicity, those all important small details, vibrant colours and quality fabrics. The charcoal grey cushion has 5 hand-stitched sets of 3 decreasing circles in different shades of Perle cotton. I seem to have a thing with circles at the moment as they are appearing frequently in my work. They are lovely, I love the colours together. April 21, 2015 at 3:19 AM.

The Sewing Attic: A little like Christmas....

http://thesewingattic.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-little-like-christmas.html

Tuesday, December 23, 2014. A little like Christmas. Our tree is up and decorated with some favourite decorations along with some handmade wreaths around the house. Our little street is looking like a disco with a few of the houses going slightly overboard with outdoor Christmas lights bringing a steady stream of cars crawling up our street. Not much of a recipe to share but here it is:. Another recipe I usually make each Christmas are these fresh ginger biscuits which I made this afternoon using a varie...

The Sewing Attic: Abundance.....

http://thesewingattic.blogspot.com/2014/12/abundance.html

Monday, December 29, 2014. The tomato plants are laden with ripening tomatoes with more flowers still being produced. Looking forward to an abundant crop so I can make my own tomato sauce! Have just harvested my first crop of beetroot ever. When the weathers good I often spend a couple of hours in my garden on a Sunday afternoon. Its a nice time to spend alone lost in my own thoughts although I'm often not quite on my own as Leo likes to follow me around resting in the shade where he can. The Polka Dot C...

Friday, 8 June 2012. Hooky hanging owl Ta-dah! My hooky hanging owl Ta-Dah! I'm sooo proud of myself and it may not be perfect but I'm truly thrilled with it! The owl was actually a little purse pattern off another blog I follow, sadly I can't remember the name of the blog, but I decided I would rather like a hanging owl than a purse.I jus tlove owl's of the hooky or fabric kind! Thursday, 7 June 2012. He just had to be a tiger on the day and what a great time they had. Hamish looks rather serious here alm...

Sunday, 31 August 2014. After some debating and soul searching about the colours I decided to finish my cushion cover, I'm sooo glad I did! Here it is, in all its bright and beautiful glory. Every time I look at it, it makes me smile. So from this drab and dreary cushion. . . . .to this Ta-Dah! I really truly do love it sooo much it just makes me smile! And I saw this sweet little tin of crochet goodness on ebay and just had to have, have, have it! Bye for now x. Wednesday, 20 August 2014. We paused to t...

all things crafty: Exploring

http://madaboutstitching.blogspot.com/2014/08/exploring.html

Tuesday, 19 August 2014. We decided to explore in the gorgeous summer sun! We concluded no adventure would be complete without Woody the dog tagging along. Hamish found the lily pads fascinating and started talking about frogs. Which got him wondering how they balance on them and whether or not they sink with the weight of the frogs. I found his conversation charming and giggle worthy. We paused to take in the wildlife and the amazing views. I just have to say it turned out to be a blisteringly hot day!

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on!: August 2012

http://bijouxbaby.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on! Quilts and crafts from me to you. Sunday, August 19, 2012. I finished these last month, but it took me a while to find my camera. Apparently it was in the car, who knew! For the boys, the Grinch is one of their favorites, so that's what I used. Ordinarily, I don't use much white when sewing for kids, but I thought pillowcases would be relatively safe. Thursday, August 16, 2012. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. So any ideas on what to do with my Nightshade stack? R0ssie ...

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on!: December 2012

http://bijouxbaby.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on! Quilts and crafts from me to you. Sunday, December 16, 2012. I FMQ'd the background in a dense loopy pattern. I appliquéd the hexagons to the background before I quilted it, so they are a little puffy and stand out nicely from the background. I used binding leftover from my friend's quilt. You just can't get any better than that Neopolitan stripe. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Iowa, United States. Wife, mother, crafter, nose wiper and procrastinator of house work.

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on! Quilts and crafts from me to you. Thursday, September 13, 2012. Have you seen the website Dog-Shaming. It's hilarious. My kids love it. Everyday, when the Wee Monsieur gets home from school, he wants to see if there are any new entries. He insisted that we make our own version for our dogs. You can imagine that the bank was not happy with me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Iowa, United States. Wife, mother, crafter, nose wiper and procrastinator of house work. If yo...

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on!: Cross Stitch

http://bijouxbaby.blogspot.com/2013/09/cross-stitch.html

Bijoux Baby Crafts: Sew forth and sew on! Quilts and crafts from me to you. Friday, September 27, 2013. I went to visit a friend in September. I knew I'd need a little something to work on while traveling, but I didn't think I'd have enough hexagons to work on. Then I saw the Frosted Pumpkin Halloween Sampler. But I'm a sewist, so I couldn't just leave it at that. I had to make a case for my projects. I took inspiration from the Sewing Portfolio I had just finished. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
