Sunday, February 10, 2013. I am sitting here relaxing on a quiet Sunday afternoon, trying to gear myself up for the week ahead. Tomorrow I will be getting a port. This is an outpatient surgery where they place a plastic valve under the skin right below my collar bone. Then a catheter is threaded to one of the big veins in my neck and down near my heart. Monday, August 26, 2013. Here she is on her first day without mom in nursery. She ran right in and grabbed a seat next to TJ. She played with legos without even noticing me taking pictures and singing songs of joy in the background. Both TJ and Ayla are obsessed with washing their hands. Once they start pumping the soap it's hard to get them to stop. We took the kids camping in Destin. Ayla loved to strut her ruffles on the beach. And play in the sand. Ayla loved the tinfoil dinners. Today is the official day of my sweet girl's third birthday! Ohmygoodness. Did i just type "third"? Where has the time gone? Just yesterday we were leaving the hospital with her screaming and shortly thereafter pulling into the K-Mart parking lot so I could climb in the back of the car with her. This is crazy! So anyway, we start our day off with some yummy cereal for breakfast! Next, it was presents! She was beyond excited! Oh well, we got that cleaned up, then it was off to see Santa! She did so good!

Saturday, December 24, 2011. It is Christmas Eve and I can't believe I have time to make a blog post. The shopping is done, the present are wrapped, the goodies have been baked, the house is clean(ish), the kids are out riding bikes in an effort to "get tired enough to sleep tonight," and Blair and Matt are at the gun range trying to expend their Christmas Eve energy. But for now,. For a quiet minute,. I am alone in the house with Christmas carols playing, scented candles burning, and lights twinkling.
