My Singapore Journal

Living and working in Singapore for three months. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Although I can't really believe it - my last day here in Singapore has come. I just returned from Bali (yes, that's the second visit) and tomorrow night I'll board the A380 direction of Zürich. And it just hit me that I AM going to miss Singapore. As much as I'm looking forward to being home again, there are just so many wonderful aspects to Singapore. Two of my favorite buildings: The Marina Bay Sands Hotel. And of course the people.

My Singapore Journal: April 2012

http://www.thesingaporejournal.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Living and working in Singapore for three months. Thursday, April 26, 2012. More funny facts and observations. When taking a taxi, the drivers - like most people in Singapore - are very nice and polite. One habit of theirs did confuse me though for some time: they will ask you which way they should take or rather if you want them to take a certain road. Like "Should I take Bridge Road? I take River Valley Road, yes? What's the answer to that if you're just a visitor and don't know the town? Singapore has...

Living and working in Singapore for three months. Thursday, March 29, 2012. And if its not Wednesday. Then I usually get my vitamins by having a delicious freshly pressed, squeezed or pureed fruit juice from this nice lady:. The 'ordering process' is usually something like this:. She: hey, good morning. What do you want today? Me: [ .and before I can say anything:]. She: let me see, what about. kiwi and apple? Is good, is sour! Me: ooookay, but red apples. I make for you, you see. Just had to post this.

My Singapore Journal: Faces of Bali

http://www.thesingaporejournal.blogspot.com/2012/04/faces-of-bali.html

Living and working in Singapore for three months. Saturday, April 14, 2012. Some of the beautiful faces of Bali. There is of course much to say about Bali, too, but at the moment I'm still just looking at the photos I took and thinking about what a great time I had. I'll probably write a bit more in the next post. April 15, 2012 at 10:21 AM. Looking forward to seeing the rest of all your pictures. you will have to take a few days off once youre finally back home! April 16, 2012 at 4:54 AM. Do you like me?

Saturday, August 18, 2012. This month it was my turn to decide on the theme for our Hilton Head Group Monthly Challenge, and I - totally selfishly - challenged the gang to pick a photo I posted on my Singapore Journal. I'm amazed at the paintings that have already been posted here, they are great and bring back so many happy memories - I just love this challenge and am looking forward to more posts to come! The Singapore Idler

Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Me again at the NDP. All thanks to STOMP for giving me a pair of tickets to the new NDP. Venue @ the Largest floating platform in the WORLD (not another Singapore first.). I had a field day taking pictures and had the chance to utilize my friend's Canon Zoom. Lens (70-200m f4L). With IMAGE STABILIZER! Which explains why I have so many people shots. Overall a good show, I especially liked the military segment: F16 Fighting Falcons screaming overhead, Apache helicopter manoeuvres.
