The Skinny on Kinney. Sunday, September 27, 2009. First Weekend in Athens. We got to the Acropolis and started the trek up to the top. Along the way, we passed the theatre of an ancient Greek god, whose name I can't remember. But apparently this theatre seats a few thousand people and plays are still performed in it today. I might try to go see a play there before my time in Greece is up. Those Greeks were so talented! Vendor: So where are you from? V: Oh, do you know acorn? Me: Like the little nut?

Musings of a not so normal life. Thursday, June 11, 2009. It's finally happened. After years of hoping and praying A.J. has finally graduated PRE-SCHOOL! Yesterday was A.J.'s preschool graduation. His school went all out. They had an outer space theme, complete with planets and a rocket ship. They sang a song about blasting off to kindergarten, and were given diplomas. It was absolutely fantastic! We really enjoyed the whole program, and I only cried a little (at graduation anyway). Peter F. Drucker.

The celebration is suspended during the Christmas season, but it begins again after the New Year. The major part of "carnival" begins the week before Lent. It is a time of celebrating, before the fasting for Lent begins. Most towns and villages have parades and parties. Today we went to the parade in Mainz. Friday, February 13, 2009. We stayed at one of the Disney hotels so we were in walking distance of the park. We rode rides, drank hot chocolate, and just had a complete blast for three FULL days!
