the slog blog: March 2007
http://theslogblog.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 31, 2007. Going beyond the 10. The world cup in 2007 has seen 16 teams participate in the event. Despite many people arguing that it would dilute the entertainment on offer, the ICC maintains that it’s necessary for global expansion that the lesser nations are given the exposure that they so badly need. But is exposure alone enough to ensure that cricket is able to grow in these countries? Friday, March 23, 2007. A tribute to the world's worst runner. Tuesday, March 20, 2007. I thought it...
the slog blog: June 2008
http://theslogblog.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 26, 2008. Even a moderate cricket follower can predict the type of pitch you would expect for a Test match at Perth. Similarly, you wouldnt need too many guesses to figure out how the pitch at Headingly would behave. Sydneys always been a turner, Galles conducive to swing bowling and the Wanderers usually has something for both batsmen and bowlers. Provided the team is assured of consistent pitches and weather conditions, they are bound to perform more consistently. Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
the slog blog: August 2005
http://theslogblog.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2005. Six useless South Africans in the Test and One Day World XI teams whereas Inzamam couldn’t find a spot in either of the squads. Unbelievable! Monday, August 15, 2005. the slog blog: A tale of two leagues
http://theslogblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/tale-of-two-leagues.html
Saturday, October 06, 2007. A tale of two leagues. I really liked the concept of the ICL when it initially appeared. With names like Warne, McGrath, Lara and Inzamam linked with the series, it was indeed a mouthwatering prospect. But as time went by the ICL increasingly gave the impression of a retirement home for international cricketers as it failed to lure in current players even after they were reportedly offered unprecedented amounts of money. the slog blog: Building on the success
http://theslogblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/building-on-success.html
Monday, October 01, 2007. Building on the success. But perhaps the most important factor in the success of this tournament was the competitiveness of the cricket. The nature of the Twenty 20 game made it possible for almost all of the matches to have very interesting and close finishes, thus removing another factor of one-sided matches that was witnessed so often in the previous two world cups. Cricket does seem to have a bright future all of a sudden. With higher run rates at Test level and hence mo...

The Wooden Box: January 2007
http://thewoodenbox.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 22, 2007. It’s been well over a year since I last wrote something for my blog. Now that I am once again unemployed and have very little to do, I can write some of my incoherent and pointless commentaries on life. So what is it that I want to do? 8221;… again I’m assuming that I have an audience). Now that is something I wouldn’t mind doing day in and day out. Imagine, to get paid just to watch cricket all day and then writing about it. That is my dream job. Posted by Abdullah Farooki.

Imagine their surprise when they discovered old Gaben's been raking in the dough like a fat man well raking in shitloads of money. sorry there's no analogy. Gaben is fat and rich. A hard-hitting look at me, him, her, us, them, that, it and what not! Friday, December 28, 2012. Stand on the road for a minute and look at how we men look at women. Look at the way most of us men monsters stare at woman as if we have never seen one before. Aren’t we rapists ourselves? What right do we have to condemn the six men in that bus? If some of us were in that bus that day, how many among us can say for sure that we wouldn’t have joined in that barbaric act ourselves? Saturday, January 31, 2009.
