My Summer Bucket List. Those of you who were (lucky? Explore the Norfolk Broads and visit an old school friend's new cafe - The River Kitchen. 2 / Finish branding my candles. And start reaching out to stockists. 3 / Start a sewing project (and finish it). 4 / Go to a fairground and ride a rollercoaster that makes me feel sick. 5 / Read five novels (preferably in the sunshine). 6 / Visit Blickling Hall or Felbrigg Hall with Muma and drink tea in the Orangery. Snug: About Me
http://www.thesnugblog.com/p/about-me.html
I'm Abigail, the writer behind Snug, pleased to meet you! I'm a country girl at heart who currently resides in South West London in a little cabin with my boyfriend and a cat for company. I'm always making my way back to my homeland of Norfolk, so a lot of what you see here is a patchwork of the familiar flat fields of home and explorations and excursions of my London life. Kept a diary, memory box, or scrapbook, and Snug is a collection of all three! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Snug Candles is Open!
Snug: The Great British Bake Off Blogger Challenge | Pies and Tarts
http://www.thesnugblog.com/2014/09/the-great-british-bake-off-blogger_10.html
The Great British Bake Off Blogger Challenge Pies and Tarts. What a welcome relief this was after all the sweetness from the last few weeks! Seriously, I've been on a sugar crash after 'accidentally' making three times the amount of desserts needed for last episode's challenge. Pie, as I have been quoted saying before, is always a treat. This week I made a Four and Twenty Chicken and Ham Pie. And boy did I not know what I was letting myself in for! The first thing to note is the HUGE difference in timing!
Snug: Travel // Why You Should Plan Your Next Trip to Warsaw
http://www.thesnugblog.com/2015/02/why-you-should-plan-your-next-trip-to.html
Travel / Why You Should Plan Your Next Trip to Warsaw. January is an odd month. Christmas has come and gone. The promise of a picture-perfect winter full of snow fall, crisp walks in the park and perpetual pink cheeks is often more damp and grey than fluffy and white, and the 'January Blues' kicks in - a concept I didn't know existed until entering adulthood. Not this year, however! I didn't research Poland much. I didn't look at a single. Travel book about Warsaw, which for me was a struggle! It's cheap...
Snug: Life // A Word to Underpin 2015
http://www.thesnugblog.com/2015/01/life-word-to-underpin-2015.html
Life / A Word to Underpin 2015. If I could sum up 2014 in a word it would be 'culmination'. I finished my MA after four years of growing and cultivating my teenage love of period dramas. As a young'un, I poured over eighteenth century texts, went weak at the knees at the sight of embossed book bindings and wore more lace than any girl on the cusp of adulthood ever should. It's Adulthood, people, and it's pretty intimidating. Alas, as much I'd love to make a little nest and squirrel away my time reading a...

Angel Jem's City Cottage: November 2014

Angel Jem's City Cottage. Angel Jem's City Cottage; Living, loving, making, baking. Angel Cakes and more. Sunday, 30 November 2014. I'm joining in Blogmas. You may remember I was complaining that I never record Christmas, I'm too busy living rather than listing. It's a good way to be, but it does rather mean that I have no records to look back on and nod at wisely while I say to myself, "I would never do that again.". I have signed up to a Christmas Card swap. Organised by Amy at Love Made My Home. Tr= t...

The Snug
Wednesday, January 7, 2015. I loved Charlie Hebdo. Read it during my many sojourns in France, found it disrespectful, mocking, and hilarious; at its best exhilarating, at its worst scurrilous, but always doing the vital job of preserving the "Liberté" part of "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.". So, from the land of Voltaire, Daumier, and Molière, CH taught the world a lesson in courage and freedom of speech. RIP, those heroes. More cartoons, please. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Happy (Science-Fiction) New Year.
