Shibui On My Mind. July 22, 2014. Shibui Mix No. 34. Working on first pattern section. I’m knitting with a super soft yarn combination and I’m so excited about it. One strand of Shibui Staccato and one strand of Silk Cloud in Ivory held together are making up the most beautiful and fun-to-make cowl. Recently, I became part of the Shibui Spark program and I’m lucky enough to be knitting this brand new cowl pattern from this amazing yarn manufacturer. Previous post: April is Poetry Month!

Sharing What You’ve Got to Give

Sharing What You’ve Got to Give. April 9, 2012. My favorite place to give. A place that never says, “No, thank you” and will take your handmade blanket with a grateful smile and warm hug. If you are one of those knitters or crocheters who have never donated an item to an altruistic cause, then please consider doing so. It’s a wonderful thing to give another person something to keep them warm. Tagged as: Project Linus altruistic sharing knitting giving. Previous post: Meeting an Idol. Sweet Dreams Baby Hat.

April is Poetry Month! April 8, 2014. Of the questions of these recurring,. Of the endless faces of the failed,. Of sweaters fill’d with errors,. Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more error prone than I, and who more knitterly? Of needles that vainly crave the stitches, of the sweaters mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,. Of the poor results of all, of the dropped stitches I see around me,. Of the rows and useless days of knitting, with fellow knitters me intertwined,. The question, Oh me!

How I Learned to Love Red Heart

How I Learned to Love Red Heart. April 22, 2012. Don't hate me because I'm not beautiful. Is it wrong to hate a yarn? Doesn’t every yarn have something to offer? Eyelash yarn was once cool. I knitted a few long eyelash scarves in my day. I’ve even seen it used effectively as an accent in a felted purse. And that popcorn yarn can be crocheted into an interesting necklace/scarf that makes you say, “Wha? 8221; Well, if throwing the whole thing in the garbage is helping, then yes, yes I can. Knitter, we have a problem.

Knitter, we have a problem. July 29, 2014. Starting to see the beautiful pattern. And no holes. So, I’m knitting on this Shibui cowl, so excited to be using this super soft yarn, and suddenly, I notice that my M1s are making holes. And I do not want holes in this pattern. I simply want increases. After some examination, I realize that I need to unknit a few rounds (of 260 stitches! But be smart, I’m thinking. What will I do to stop the problem from happening again? Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Jim Rohn. September 16, 2014. What I’m Working On. Now I have another purpose – to crochet one or more blankets for the posterity of the House. Since the house is full of artistic students, I’m already thinking about a colorful zig zag pattern. First, to finish the navy and white (school colors) blanket for the oldest. I love goals. They make me work faster! What I’m Reading. On our 12 day trip, I began and finished (an amazing feat for me!
