About The Stool Shed. I had worked in wood as a hobby for years, but, in the 1990's received formal training at the acclaimed Chicago Bauhaus Academy. Under the instruction of award-winning master craftsman and artist Berthold Schwaiger. There, I learned the basics of fine furniture design and construction. Using slabs of local native hardwoods, as well as lumber reclaimed from old barns and tobacco sheds, I create uncomplicated, functional, and “warm” designs. Create a free website.
