Summer Reading 2008: May 2006
http://thesummerofclassics.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
The chronicle of one girl's attempt to read every classic she hasn't read already. third time is a charm. Sunday, May 28, 2006. I've been so busy. I apologize. Graduation and everything. But I did get a lot of listening/reading done while knitting my sweater thing. Book 3: My Antonia by Willa Cather. Book 4: On the Road by Jack Kerouac. So this book is at the bottom of the list. I'm sure it was very influential for others, just not me. Book 5: Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Book 3 is M...

The chronicle of one girl's attempt to read every classic she hasn't read already. third time is a charm. Sunday, May 18, 2008. I think I'm on my eighth book at the moment? Smith is a good writer. Individually, her sentences are beautiful. For being her first novel, written when she was 24, it is impressive. However, it just did not hold my attention. The characters and the plot just did not do it for me. They were not likable, just obnoxious mostly. Does that make me racist? Okay there are a lot more fu...

The chronicle of one girl's attempt to read every classic she hasn't read already. third time is a charm. Sunday, May 27, 2007. So I started House of Mirth. By Edith Wharton. Got 100ish pages into it but I decided that I should read my library books and take my own books with me to Alaska. So I put it aside, even though it was a decent book. More of the whole early 20th century class issues. I like it though, the protagonist is a lot better than Sister Carrie. And also fifty pages of Saturday. That is al...

The chronicle of one girl's attempt to read every classic she hasn't read already. third time is a charm. Monday, June 18, 2007. I went to Alaska on vacation last week. I got through about five books which is pretty good I think. Not as good as Jesi of course but you know. Here's the rundown. 1 Saturday by Ian McEwan. Where they do surgery. Didn't know that. Anyway, phenomenal book, possibly the best I've read by McEwan, which isn't much. But it tops Atonement quite possibly. 3 Enduring Love by Ian McEwan.

Knitting in College: May 2008

Wednesday, May 28, 2008. However, the Dollar and a Half Cardigan is getting there. I have finished both of the front pieces. Here is a picture of the right front relaxing in the windowsill, one of my cat's favorite spots as well. I don't believe that I ever shared with you all pictures of my knitting needle case that boy made for me. Although he disagrees, I really like it and it is nice to have everything in one place. An excellent Christmas present, I must say. Look at that guinea pig! If you would lik...

The Diary of Leah Bevan (aged 10 and a half) | The summer of 1993
The Diary of Leah Bevan (aged 10 and a half). The summer of 1993. Tuesday 3rd August 1993. I kept the clay snake for years but eventually it started to crumble, the tail snapped off and it ended up in the bin. It’s one of the few things I’ve actually thrown away as I take after my Mum in the hoarding stakes. I only recently threw away a pot which contained teeth I had removed when I was 12 but I still have the wisdom tooth I had removed early this year! This online shop brings you a little taster of the ...

The Summer of Alice | In which I attempt to complete a summer bucket list.
The Summer of Alice. In which I attempt to complete a summer bucket list. Summer Bucket List 2013. School started last Wednesday, which means I didn’t have time to write this post until now. Many items I was doing were continuous ones, and I am proud to say I achieved many of them. (Well… I didn’t really achieve that pesky one of waking up before 10 at least 5 days a week. Also, I couldn’t finish reading all the books I meant to read this summer.). The ones I accomplished:. 28: Take a photo every day.

The Summer of December | A wanderlust's story.
The Summer of December. A wanderlust's story. I EARNED A LOT IN DAVAO CITY. There is place in a faraway land that our bare feet cannot just walk or stand. There in this place you got to know and wait till you see how your mind will be blown. A month after my adventure in Cebu and Bohol, I am flying once again to a more distant place from the North- The Crown Jewel of Mindanao, Davao City. On my left is Sydney. On my farthest left is Gani. Me in the cab. Of course my most favorite is the pink one. :P.
