Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Monday, October 31, 2011. At the beginning of the month, I made a commitment to join NaBloPoMo to write a blog post every day for the month of October. Just let me say it was a struggle. Some days were easy, some day were difficult. Some post were good and some were not so good. But now it's October 31 and all I can say is. And I will see you tomorrow. Links to this post. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Let's start when Baby Susan was about 10 months old.

Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Friday, September 30, 2011. Shake Your Tail Feather. Now my shopping skillz (notice how I spelled that with a "z", just to up my street cred, dawg) are well documented. I can smell a bargain from a mile away. Here is my latest find. It's a little difficult to see, due to my mad photography skillz (again with the "z"), but that is a Fossil purse. It retail for $200. I bought it today got $65! And I will shake my tail feather when I wear this! But my prin...

Memaw's World: Whole Earth Grandma, Here I Come
http://memaw-memawsworld.blogspot.com/2013/06/whole-earth-grandma-here-i-come.html
Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Thursday, June 6, 2013. Whole Earth Grandma, Here I Come. I came of age during the late sixties and early seventies and, as a result, I was a wannabe hippie. I had the long straight hair that was parted in the middle. I had large bell bottom jeans. And I could rock some hip huggers. And I am lazy. Much too lazy to grow my own food. Much too lazy to make my own clothing. Much too lazy to collect rain water for my household use. Just call me Paisley Pam.

Memaw's World: January 2012

Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Tuesday, January 10, 2012. I Will Be Remembering. After I posted this, it occurred to me that I may have left the wrong impression. I won't be walking the march all by myself. Danny Dearest will be my side for every single step. He may even have to push, pull, and drag me to the finish line. The Bataan Memorial Death March. In case you didn't quite get that, that was the Bataan Memorial Death March. And I will be remembering on March 25, 2012. As Danny ...

Memaw's World: November 2011

Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Long distance running while dealing with Type 2 Diabetes is an adventure. All long distance runners face some similar training issues. We all have injuries. We all deal with the weather. But diabetic runners have special problems. See all those pockets on the rear end of the shorts? Those will carry all my supplies. I'll look a little like a pack horse running down the road. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 29, 2011.

Memaw's World: Once a Duck, Always a Duck
http://memaw-memawsworld.blogspot.com/2013/06/once-duck-always-duck.html
Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Sunday, June 2, 2013. Once a Duck, Always a Duck. Like all good southern girls, I spent my Friday nights at the War Memorial stadium cheering on the mighty Mayfield Cardinal football team. In between the flirting, gossiping, and drama that is the lifeblood of high school, there was some football played. I think. I was very involved in the flirting, gossiping, and drama so I'm not really sure how much football was actually played. These signs are placed ...

Memaw's World: Am I a Kentucky Girl? Why Yes. Why Do You Ask?
http://memaw-memawsworld.blogspot.com/2013/05/one-of-things-that-attracted-us-to-our.html
Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Thursday, May 30, 2013. Am I a Kentucky Girl? Why Yes. Why Do You Ask? One of the things that attracted us to our new home in Taylor, Texas was the swimming pool in the backyard. I envisioned days of laying around the pool with my lemonade. Getting up to take a dunk in the pool whenever I got a little hot from the summer sun. Maybe floating around on a raft with my fingers trailing in the water. But I forgot one little fact. You can do It! Squash and cu...

Memaw's World: August 2012

Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Tuesday, August 7, 2012. A Boy and His Grandmother. Recently I ran across an old picture. This would be Danny Dearest with his grandmother, Momma May (I hope the spelling of that is correct), about 57 years ago when he was about one year old. Doesn't he seem happy to be with his gramdmother. Flash forward about 45 or so years and you get this. That is me with Mr. Jacob at about the same age as Danny Dearest with HIS grandmother. Memaw's World: February 2012
http://memaw-memawsworld.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Thursday, February 9, 2012. Well, Apparently I AM Bilingual. Today, after a delightful morning of teaching preschoolers, I had several errands to run. Now, as we all know, a lady cannot be expected to face the rigors of the retail world, on a empty stomach. So I decided to stop at that fine Mexican eating establishment. Yes, Taco Bell, Don't judge me. I was hungry and had very limited funds.so Taco Bell it was. The customer spoke no English, only Spanish.

Who wants to be Miss Goody? She only has TWO shoes! Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Just a Bowl of Bottle Tops. It was just a bowl of bottle tops. It would look like garbage to anyone else. But to me it was the most memorable moment of our Nicaraguan Medical Mission trip. But let me explain. I hit upon the idea of bottle tops. They were on the ground everywhere we visited in Nicaragua. The teachers could easily have their students collect these if they needed them. Problem solved. That the need is so great that ...
