The occasional blog of Swindon Photographer Nick Temple-Fry. Brass Bands in the Town Gardens. The town gardens, a hidden dell in Old Town Swindon. I wonder how many people pass by without appreciating this wooded glade. Perhaps a trifle more care worn than is ideal but still presenting a vista of colour and shade. And of course there is a tea booth serving refreshments. Ukebox Jury is the exception to the brass bands, instead youll see a spirited Ukulele combo, playing a variety of songs and tunes.

The Swine. Influenza in Mexico City. Cheap Meat and Fast Airplanes. A weekend at Smithfield Farms. August 3, 2009. The way out for me and my girlfriend Benedicte was a weekend trip to El Perote, the center of a massive network of Smithfield owned industrial pig farms and the site of the earliest known case of the swine flu. It was clearly the next chapter in the swine flu story. The next day Gerardo, Gaspar’s son showed us the sites our PR guided tour had forgotten to include. Everything was not fine here.
