You are my sunshine. Friday, November 1, 2013. Emma's classroom is having a contest to win a pizza party. They need to sell as many market day pies as possibly by Nov. 6th. I know it's short notice, but please let me know if you want to place a pie order sometime this coming week. See the link below for a list of pies. Please only order if you live in Michigan and/or will see us within a week of delivery (Nov. 15th, I believe), as we don't have the freezer space for a lengthy hold.

You are my sunshine. Monday, April 29, 2013. Sunday, April 14, 2013. Emma is joining a group of kids at Kensington Church to raise money for the Hope Water Project on May 11th at 10 am. She is doing the quarter-mile. She needs help from you all to reach her goal to raise $100. Of course we would love to raise more! Anything you can give is appreciated. Everything raised is going toward digging clean water wells in Africa for the Pokot kids. We spent another Easter in Alabama! Uncle Jeff and Aunt Amanda.

Last Saturday we went hiking in the Shenandoah National Forest. It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there but the scenery was beautiful. We hiked the Rose River Falls Loop which we thought was going to be about a mile or 2. It ended up being a 4 mile hike! It's a good thing we packed water and snacks. Birthday boys and first day of school. The boys had a birthday. They are 6 years old! We started off the day by opening their present from us so they could play with them that day. After playing with their scooters for a bit we had our first day of school. The boys will be doing first grade work this year and Sarah is pre-k. People often ask me how homeschooling is going. I thought I'd take some video while we did our work just to show some of what we do and how the kids are coming along with their reading and math skills. Silly faces before church (she was eating cereal so there is even some milk dripping out of her mouth for effect). This was the day she got her glasses. She is so stinking cute! It hasn't been a huge deal and since getting these eye patches. From Amazon she has been content to pick out a new design each day. She wears it without a complaint for several hours.
