The Stansell Dozen: October 2012
http://stanselldozen.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. After this year I have decided that Halloween is the most exhausting day for me.I think it's because too many things are packed into one day. With that being said, the kids and I had a good day. First, I need to give credit where credit is due. While I am the one that made the costumes, I'm not the one that came up with the idea. Ang did! And that is the rest of the story :-). Carol, from church, was handing out candy from her store. The kids were happy to see her. They won 1s...

The Stansell Dozen: December 2011
http://stanselldozen.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2011. Did Santa Stop at Our House This Year? I wish I could say Goose and I were strong and we made the kids wait to open their big gifts from us until Christmas morning, but that just wasn't the case. That's right we caved. They opened them when we got home from looking at Christmas lights. The bad part is, the kids weren't even begging to open a gift.we wanted them to open their gifts. Ten went next.so sweet to pose for the camera. Miles waited very patiently for his turn. Miles t...

Stansell Family...6 and counting: Cookie Decorating...
http://stansellfamily4andcounting.blogspot.com/2015/03/cookie-decorating.html
Stansell Family.6 and counting. Monday, January 19, 2015. I can't believe I forgot to post about the "Cookie Decorating" party Our kids had before Christmas! Ok, first I should say the Aunt Gwen is the BEST! This is her second year to have as many of her grand kids, great nieces, and great nephews get together and decorate cookies. My kids loved it last year and looked forward to it this year. Everyone had so much fun. She had her "station" organized and ready for some serious decorating. Syd and Madison...

Rubbings and Rambles: Fair Gratitude
http://rubbingsandrambles.blogspot.com/2012/03/fair-gratitude.html
As leaf rubbings make an impression onto paper. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. The kids and I were reading in The Giant Killer. By ALO.E. the other day, and got to the part where the champion finds and rescues the fair maiden, Gratitude. Her enemy, the giant Pride, had chased her until she had gotten lost in the dreary swamp called Forgetfulness. I couldn't help but smile, because the night before, I had been so enjoying Ann Voskamp's blog post. April 25, 2012 at 1:07 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Alesha's School Shelf: March 2014
http://schoolshelf.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
A place to keep thoughts and ideas about our children's home education. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Learning how to read the Charlotte Mason way. Me, that is! The kids have been reading small portions of good books, and then stopping to reflect and retell what they remember or thought was interesting ever since I started reading about Charlotte Mason's homeschooling methods several years ago. When we weren't consistent, it was primarily because it was such an odd shift in how I was accustomed to reading.

Internet for Taylor's job. At least what searching we have done seems to indicate that it will be adequate. An acceptable place to have this baby. Alesha's School Shelf: Ferns, Fiddleheads, and other Fun. :)
http://schoolshelf.blogspot.com/2014/03/ferns-fiddleheads-and-other-fun.html
A place to keep thoughts and ideas about our children's home education. Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Ferns, Fiddleheads, and other Fun. :). Being from the DRY part of Texas, ferns were not part of the natural world I learned about as a kid. Mesquite blossoms or cactus wrens, yes. Ferns, not so much. :). That makes it all the more fun that our kitchen window looks like this:. They also counted the new, uncurling fronds, commonly called fiddleheads, and examined the undersides of leaves to see which had fruit ...

Current Favorite Curriculum Choices. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A Precious Thing, A Precious Memory. The reason this Muzzleloader is my most prized possession, is because of my love for the master craftsman who made it! Today I want to share with you about this because it is the 5th anniversary of my grandfather's death. He made this gun for ME. His only granddaughter! It is priceless to me, because of who HE was. So, nope, this gun isn't for sale.ever! It definitely is something you have to see and touc...

The Stansell Dozen: July 2012
http://stanselldozen.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. At least that is what our kids think. We are fortunate to know Don and Kathy. They live just north of Steve and Nancy. Don works at Kinder Morgan. They have allowed our kids to swim in their pool for the last couple of summers. The kids love it. The pool has a slide and most of the pool is pretty shallow, so it is actually very nice for the kids. Miles always cracks me up. He has to "check out" the water first. He never jumps right in. My little bug boy swimmer. She held up the wall.
