The Teacher Tote: Magnets!
http://theteachertote.blogspot.com/2014/07/magnets.html
Thursday, July 3, 2014. I'm back on the blog again.what? I just have the back to school bug.on July 3rd. It's probably because it's more fun to look at back to school deals and think about decorating my room than doing my final project for my grad school class. Hence why I'm blogging again. I'm just putting off that final project. Technically this is our week off.so I would just be an overachiever to be working on it right now! That is so not me. The original idea came from here. I put my information on ...
The Teacher Tote: Another try at this thing called blogging!
http://theteachertote.blogspot.com/2014/07/another-try-at-this-thing-called.html
Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Another try at this thing called blogging! Last year I spent hours upon hours stalking the blogs of much better and much more seasoned teachers while they shared pictures of their classrooms and highlights of what they were doing. I also spent too much of my tiny little paycheck on their products on Teachers Pay Teachers so my students didn't feel quite as left out and didn't leave my classroom knowing nothing. Sorry class of 2024.I hope I didn't scar you forever! We did Class Dojo!

Wednesday, July 9, 2014. But I know after I sweat my tooshie off on Day 1 I will miss the pool and air conditioning.ah such is life. The second dream was that my two lovely friends in first grade redecorated their rooms just like mine.except NAVY, red, and white polka dots. And they hung table numbers over every desk. So 20 table numbers hanging from 20 tissue poms. SO WEIRD. Why do I dream like this? And now we get to todays posts! Even on the first day I'm sending things home for parents to keep and as...
The Teacher Tote: New Goodies for a New Year
http://theteachertote.blogspot.com/2014/07/new-goodies-for-new-year.html
Friday, July 18, 2014. New Goodies for a New Year. Now, some of us go a little beyond. I absolutely did not have. To buy a lot of the items I did last year or this year to have a successful year with my students. I did not need. But I could not buy everything I wanted in one year- I would be broke. So you just have to pace yourself. IKEA will pretty much be a staple trip, and the Container Store is just down the street. Both are wonderful! The whiteboards will go up top. But, I would like to build up my ...

THE LEADER, THE TEACHER & YOU
The true mark of success for a teacher is when one’s student surpasses one’s self. It should be no different for a leader. Ldquo;Wealth does not last beyond three generations,”. Unless there is a codification of values and principles of successful leadership,. And a regular re-expression of the values and principles in ways relevant to each generation.
The Teacher-To-Be | Learning to be the teacher I hope to be
Learning to be the teacher I hope to be. Reflection on Winter Quarter. May 18, 2014. Here I am blogging again! After months away, it feels both foreign and familiar to be back here. It’s hard to believe that Winter quarter was 2 months ago. It feels like it has been much longer, and also just like yesterday. How does all of this make. Not only in whole class interactions, but also when working individually with students. I wrote about the importance of creating an authentic context for learning. My place...

The Teacher Tote
Monday, August 11, 2014. I quickly realized that "shopping" for books as a student in a super crammed shelf was really not the best way to find a book that was interesting. I could never find a book I needed because I never had any idea where in the world it was. So my "summer" project was decided- sort library into bins! That "summer" project became two weeks before school project. Whoooooops! It worked out because, drum roll please, it doubled as a Masters homework assignment! Here's the library before:.

Sandra Finley Doran | Insights that lift and inspire.
Insights that lift and inspire. Part II: Brothers and Sisters of Difficult Kids. January 11, 2015. January 11, 2015. In 1997, I completed a 456 page dissertation on siblings of teens and young adults with attention-deficit disorder. The thought of condensing my work to a few paragraphs here is a bit daunting, but I will make a heroic effort. The first thing you need to know is that this was not a quantitative study,. But a qualitative study. While it is not possible to re-create the stories here, I will ...
