The Teaching Thief: Fiction Friday 2015

http://theteachingthief.blogspot.com/p/fiction-friday-2015_19.html

Fiction Friday started four years ago (gasp! When I first started this little ol' blog. Each summer, using the Texas Bluebonnet Nominee and my district's 4th grade Battle of the Books list, I read as many books as I could to help encourage and inspired my students to get reading in the fall. To help hold myself accountable and share these wonderful new books I discovered along the way, I started Fiction Friday. Soon others started joining in and that is where the fun really began! Guided Reading - Q.

The Learning Lab: We've Been Busy!

http://mrscolegrovesfourthgrade.blogspot.com/2013/09/weve-been-busy.html

Teachers Pay Teachers Store. Sunday, September 15, 2013. I've taken a long break from my blog. During my time off, I've finished my master's degree, gotten things started in my classroom, and am pregnant! My husband and I are over-the-moon-happy. I'm 16 weeks pregnant today! So, I'm starting off a new school year with a new perspective: someone else is going to be teaching my students for part of the year. Eek! This means I'm going to remain organized and structured! I rearranged my classroom. From the m...

Enjoying Life Along the Way: April 2011

http://tiffany-faye.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Enjoying Life Along the Way. Friday, April 15, 2011. Wow, it’s been a while. Over the last week, I have thought of blogging every day. However, no day was particularly joyful at all. Each day was filled with frustration, inconvenience, and tears. There were a million reasons to say the week was NOT joyful: Mike left (a week ago today), a cashier yelled at me, a school district shot me down, the wedding planning intensified, and my great-aunt died. What will I miss about Louisiana: fluer de lis and manners.

Enjoying Life Along the Way: March 2011

http://tiffany-faye.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Enjoying Life Along the Way. Saturday, March 26, 2011. The Joy of the Season. Yesterday, I woke up and got ready to head to campus for another full day of classes. As I was packing my lunch, I hit a little road block:. For lunch, I had planned to eat the leftover pizza from dinner with a great friend the night before. This pizza was DELICIOUS. (FYI: I recommend BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse in Baton Rouge.) Then, as I was getting out of the refrigerator, I realized…FRIDAY=NO MEAT! Once I packed my tuna sa...

Enjoying Life Along the Way: September 2011

http://tiffany-faye.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Enjoying Life Along the Way. Thursday, September 29, 2011. School is going absolutely wonderfully. I can honestly say that I would not rather be at any other school. I have two students who will be receiving Wilson instruction with me, one-on-one. That’s a lot of pressure for a trainee. Monday, September 26, 2011. We had a wonderful time and a pretty darn good feast. It was an absolutely delicious dinner. Try it with your family, and let me know what you’re cookin’! Monday, September 19, 2011. Anyway&#82...

Enjoying Life Along the Way: October 2011

http://tiffany-faye.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Enjoying Life Along the Way. Sunday, October 23, 2011. Oh my goodness. It has been quite some time since my last update. Oops! Usually, when I come home from work I have so much wedding stuff to do that I don’t even think about updating my blog. The only time it crosses my mind is when I read someone else’s post. BUT we’ve got everything packed up, and all our wedding “stuff” will be headed to Louisiana tomorrow. So I have time for a little update now. My jar is on the left. Mike's is on the right. Subsc...

http://tiffany-faye.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Enjoying Life Along the Way. Sunday, April 29, 2012. After much persistence from various friend and family members, I am posting about the new house! Yes, we moved in nearly a month ago. We’ve been furiously unpacking since, and we even had the time somewhere to paint the kitchen. In case you didn’t catch the Facebook posts, the color is pistachio green…more about that later though. This is our home. A little guest bathroom. A guest room/office, complete with fouton for visitors. Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Teach Mom Run: Happy New Year!

http://teachmomrun.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-new-year.html

Thursday, January 2, 2014. Staying home this year has made me realize how much I can simplify things. I have so much I want to do, however I need to prioritize some other areas of my life so that I make what I want to do a priority. It was then I realized that I was living a very reactive life at home instead of proactive. Thus, the need to create some routines that will simplify life in 2014. Pork Chops and Sauerkraut. 4 bone-in pork chops. 2 jars of sauerkraut. 1 tablespoon canola oil. Thats funny....

From Mrs. Allen's Teaching Files: Teaching the Secrets of the Dictionary (Plus a Freebie!)

http://www.allensteachingfiles.com/2012/07/teaching-secrets-of-dictionary-plus.html

Sunday, July 8, 2012. Teaching the Secrets of the Dictionary (Plus a Freebie! With the Internet Age, the use of "dead-tree dictionaries" is becoming less and less every year. why carry around a dusty tome, when most of that information is just a few keystrokes away? Well, although I'm generally an out-with-the-old kind of gal - I still. Think that helping students learn how to navigate through a paper dictionary is an important skill to obtain, for 4 main reasons:. Since I had to tune up my packet to ali...

A First Grade Teacher Blog. You are here: Home. June 17, 2013. I am SUPER excited about my latest product! Inspiration for my “Send Home Science! 8221; kits hit me when I was putting together a birthday present for one of my daughter’s Girl Scout buddies. We filled a gift bag with weird science-y stuff like a bottle of vinegar, baking soda, Epsom salts, balloons and a really cool science experiment book. The look on her face was PRICELESS as she pulled out those random things! And they were CHEAP to make!
