The Tea Haus

The Tea Haus blog. Interesting tidbits about the world of tea and tisanes. Thursday, February 14, 2013. Why won't my cup of tea wake me in the morning? A lot of people know that tea does contain caffeine, the same alkaloid. So why doesn’t it have the same effect (waking) as the coffee? The simple answer is two-fold. First, the amount of caffeine is less than coffee. Generally, a standard cup of regular black tea has about 1/3 the caffeine content as the same size cup of coffee. Posted by The Tea Haus.

Tea Health Benefits | Love my tea

Love my tea RSS. Many people refer to afternoon tea as “High Tea” because they think it sounds regal. This is a misnomer. High tea is actually the term associated with dinner. Afternoon tea on the other hand is tea served during the mid afternoon hours – typically between 4pm and 7pm. In Britain where this custom originated, this was often refered to as low tea, as it was usually served in a drawing room. The drawing room had low tables placed by sofas and chairs to hold the tea and goodies.
