You, Me, and Debris: No longer roughing it
http://youmeanddebris.blogspot.com/2012/09/no-longer-roughing-it.html
You, Me, and Debris. No longer roughing it. Last weekend we took our dishwasher and stove from Madison to the cabin. It is the first time we have had a stove there since we bought the cabin over a year ago. It is just in time too because we decided a few weeks ago that we need a break from brats! Finally, a stove! Almost ready to use. When are you coming for dinner? Working conditions were pretty great! We even had time to enjoy one of the most important holidays on Lake Redstone, Labor Day weekend. ...

You, Me, and Debris: We passed!
http://youmeanddebris.blogspot.com/2012/12/we-passed.html
You, Me, and Debris. We finally passed the final inspection at the cabin! We are about 6-9 months behind schedule, but the cabin is completely livable at this point. All the electrical, plumbing and HVAC passed the final inspection and we have been getting a lot of use out of the cabin every weekend. We didn't pass on the first try, but the list of projects from the inspector wasn't too long and we were able to finish them up in a couple of weekends. No cable so using a lot of Netflix. We also bought bac...

You, Me, and Debris: Backsplash Tile
http://youmeanddebris.blogspot.com/2013/02/backsplash-tile.html
You, Me, and Debris. Between pregnancy, delivering a baby and being stuck in the NICU for 2 weeks, progress at the cabin has been slow. We did manage to tackle one project while on maternity/paternity leave - the backsplash tile. We chose a combination glass and stone tile from Menards. Over the course of about 3 days we managed to install and grout it. Will is starting on home improvement early. The only 2 big projects left inside are the trim and fireplace stone. We are getting there!

You, Me, and Debris: Money well spent
http://youmeanddebris.blogspot.com/2013/07/money-well-spent.html
You, Me, and Debris. Bocce court before excavation. Lots of bricks to move. The dirt pile. think the neighbors will miss this? Sunday things were drying out and we were finally able to make some progress. After 12 hours of skid loading, we checked everything off our to do list. The yard is a complete mess and needs a lot of work and some of the gravel still needs to be leveled, but overall it was a pretty big success! We will be playing bocce ball in no time! Dirt pile is going. You, Me, and Debris.

You, Me, and Debris: DIY Masonry
http://youmeanddebris.blogspot.com/2013/04/diy-masonry.html
You, Me, and Debris. We thought our DIY projects were slow moving before Will came along. now they have practically come to a standstill! The bad news is that we have a bunch of stone left. So we will likely be doing more mortar work either in the outdoor shower or maybe an outdoor kitchen? Thoughts and suggestions are welcome! Starting to put the lathe up. Scratch coat is complete. The hardest part was just overcoming our uncertainty and getting started. Tools of the trade. You, Me, and Debris.
