Take Me To Church. Long before I saw the music video for. Take Me To Church. By Hozier, I found the lyrics to be powerful and beautiful. He compares his lover to religion and talks about gaining humanity through acts of love. I found the music video to be both shocking and powerful. It depicts love and people acting out because of their religion. What it shows is no secret in today’s world, yet is disturbing because some acts of love can cause others to lose their humanity.
