With Needle and Brush: November 2014
http://withneedleandbrush.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
With Needle and Brush. Sewing, Knitting, and a Dab of Paint. Sunday, November 30, 2014. A Go-With-Everything Ponte Jacket. Back in September I realized I could really use a basic cardigan in my wardrobe, an easy-to-wear jacket that would go with (almost) everything. So I dug through my resource center and found a black ponte milled for Eileen Fisher, purchased from Sawyer Brook a couple of years ago. The fabric is rayon and nylon, and it has a soft hand and drape. And that's the news from my little corne...

With Needle and Brush: February 2015
http://withneedleandbrush.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
With Needle and Brush. Sewing, Knitting, and a Dab of Paint. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. I love making things with the felting machine so much, I've continued with it throughout February. Which puts me behind in my challenge, but, hey - it's been too much fun to leave behind just yet. The main reason I love this craft/art is because it lets me play with color and fiber. Here is some of the fleece I've accumulated:. Warm tones, reminding me that spring will indeed come some day:. I used a fleece batting...

Gayle Ortiz: June 2015
http://gayleygirl.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Several years ago I made and sold textile necklaces, collars really, to a sweet little shop in Carmel, California. Nancy King sold fabrics, buttons, ribbons and other new and vintage findings that were perfectly chosen. It was a beautifully curated shop. But alas, it's no more. Many of us still mourn it's passing. A year and a half ago at a Design Outside The Lines. The pieces b...

Gayle Ortiz: Bunkhouse Roundup
http://gayleygirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/bunkhouse-roundup.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The Bunkhouse is what we call the little cottage next to our home. I use it for my workspace and it also serves as our guest quarters. It's a sweet little 500 Sq. Ft. beach cottage, single wall construction so in the summer it's baking in there. But I have managed to slide in a few sewing days so far this summer. So we moseyed on over to Fabrix. On the same street. So, I convinced myself this fabric was a madras.yeah, it was a stretch. And I don't usually wear such brigh...I ins...
