During my grammar school days, our neighborhood replicated the Our Gang comedies. All of the neighborhood kids played together every day; we were rarely indoors. We skated with the old street skates, played Kick the Can. And Hide and Seek. As a teenager in the late 1950s and growing into adulthood, I enjoyed the era of bouffant hairdos, puppy-dog skirts with puffy crinoline slips, and Rock and Roll.
