PHP North East: the first of many. Last night, Anthony Sterling. Kicked off the first meeting of PHPNE. A Newcastle-based PHP user group in the style of several. I joined a dozen or so other local developers at the Town Wall. Which has kindly agreed to host the group for the forseeable future. No comments so far. Generic Text a mini-portfolio. The Geekest Drink a get-together. Appnet, for completeness. Or just give me a shout on Twitter!

Next time you're in Newcastle make sure you pop in for a pint…. And maybe some scran. Artwork by Mr Scruff. The Town Wall Pink Lane Newcastle Upon Tyne. Telephone 0191 232 3000. Trains, Pubs and Football...: February 2013
http://eddierowles.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Trains, Pubs and Football. The trials and tribulations as DAFTS follow Darlington FC in the Northern League - at all points from Ashington to Whitley Bay we'll be there (well, probably). Not to mention the pubs along the way. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Thursday, 14 February 2013. Hebburn, We're In Hebburn. When walking round Kings Cross the other week I noticed that our usual breakfasterie - Da Vincis - is no more. It has been revamped and is now part of the Best Mangal. And one smokey beer, Anarchy.

A couple of days ago, my friend and colleague Gavin Logan. Wrote a short post. Which has got me thinking about criticism (or lack thereof) in the local web community:. 8220; A local web design agency that I used to admire has started to churn out insipid work. It’s made me think about this aversion we have for talking publicly about this kind of thing. I don’t want to name them, and I’d consider it rude if I did, but I don’t know where this politeness comes from. ”. Just one comment so far. Earlier this ...

Wednesday, 21 May 2014. A Tale of Two Celts (or how to eat and drink your way through Newcastle). One of these lovely bloggers is Kirsty @ Indigo Buttons. And at the weekend, after ages trying to get it planned via twitter and text, she finally came to stay with me in Newcastle! I met her at the train station on Friday afternoon and I instantly adored her thanks to her genuinely huge smile and the Scottish way she says 'HALLO'. AMAZING. I had been wanting to try the new Fat Hippo Underground. Which is, i...
