MTA by the Numbers. My interest in mass-transit has come from a variety of different places. First and foremost, I grew up watching the Second Avenue Subway construction happen in my backyard; it has been fascinating to watch Second Avenue transform from a regular New York City street into a forty block construction site. I was 12 then, and my friend showed me the underground world I’d never seen before, the world that my Mom and Dad told me was dangerous. I entered the Lexington Ave 86.

MTA by the Numbers. What is the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA. The PCAC was created by the New York State Legislature in 1981 as a way to give users of MTA subway, bus and commuter rail services a voice in the formulation and implementation of MTA policy, and to hold the MTA Board and MTA management accountable to riders.
