The Trip Strip

Friday, September 23, 2005. Gang for Gangtok - I. I found the Bangalore-Guwahati train waiting on the platform but I just reached 2 minutes late to get the current ticket. Anyway, to cut a long story short I bought a. General ticket and boarded the otherwise empty train. My co-passenger was traveling all the way from Bangalore to Guwahati and his ultimate destination was Silchar. That makes 3.5 days in a train and another 24 hours by bus. Well! North East is fascinating but its excruciatingly far! We sti...

The Trip Strip: My first trek!

http://thetripstrip.blogspot.com/2005/03/my-first-trek.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2005. After the round of skiing, we were quite tired; but the hope that we would manage a trek in the hills was well alive. Our ski guides suggested the 3 hour to-and-from climb to the Temple of Baba Prakashgiri of gurgaon( hey! Your truly was the fittest and as usual, wasted no time in getting ahead of the pack. We didn't have much in lunch so the idea of eating some snow was fun! But who says that dogs don't bite! This view is atop the glacier, just at the side of the cave!

The Trip Strip: We see it live!

http://thetripstrip.blogspot.com/2005/03/we-see-it-live.html

Thursday, March 31, 2005. We see it live! Day 3 was one of revelations! A magnificent Greentop house right up there in Kothi! But you have to be there to feel the magic. It is not convertible to speech! As we descended, we could see the towering hills all partially covered with clouds. and at times, could see the clouds from inside the clouds! That was some fun at 7000 Ft. The return to Delhi was one terror ride as the driver was hell bent on shaving a clean 2.5 hrs of the onward travel time. We ...My pr...

The Trip Strip: Holi in Manali!!

http://thetripstrip.blogspot.com/2005/03/holi-in-manali.html

Monday, March 28, 2005. Hi all, it has been a long time since I put up a post here.Almost 10 months since I posted my first blog, I am now rediscovering the appeal and might of blogging and this newly found "IT enabled" pastime creates waves around the netizens of the world. This blog of mine is about a much delayed and eagerly desired trip to Manali, a hill station in the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh in India. Abe chalte hain na, kab tak inki ghulami karte rahenge "? Was sorely missed for local guidance ...

Play replayed!: August 2005

http://playreplayed.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 27, 2005. Genre- Novel Enactment (Innocent Erendira by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The story itself unfolds like a bizarre daydream that follows a 14 year old Eréndira as she is plagued by the "wind of her misfortune." She has a devilish grandmother who makes poor Erendira work for her day and night and does not let the Erendira see any of the beautiful outside world. It is this wind of misfortune that causes Eréndira to unwittingly burn down her grandmother's lavish villa. The Indian versio...

Freedom of Speech: July 2006

http://nikeesaudience.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 08, 2006. A change in co-ordinates brings about a definite change in an individual's life, as I have experienced over the past 4 months or so. I have seen myself change from a care-free bachelor tenant. To a still bachelor ( thankfully ) but responsible male; from a 9 AM -6 PM pretension of work. To a 8 AM - 10 PM detention to work. You must be wondering what a carnivore who kills more than it can eat has any semblance with professionals? Well, in the corporate world, we are all weasels!

Freedom of Speech: November 2005

Sunday, November 06, 2005. A pair of birds that was not to be! Once upon a time, there lived a little widlfowl named. Perched in the warm but artificial comfort of its Nest in the midlands. In search of food and warmth, Misty's parents flew to Andes ,thousands of miles away .The little Misty. Had to stay back as it was too young to fly the distances. Misty was not alone, with the rest of the population taking care of the little one. Who had strayed from its migrating pack. Ralph. To come closer. Days...

Freedom of Speech: July 2005

http://nikeesaudience.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 28, 2005. Talking to a bot! I start this with a joke! A guy is just passing by a pond when a little frog comes up to him and squeals," If you kiss. Me on the lips, I would become a girl. And entertain you in your free time". The guys smiles, picks up the frog and puts it in his pocket. After some time, he takes the frog out. It says,"If you kiss me on the lips, I would become a pretty. Girl and entertain you in your free time. Become a rich, pretty girl. And entertain you for many many years.

Play replayed!: July 2005

http://playreplayed.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 25, 2005. Venue India Habitat Center. Partners AS, KJ, BCM. Bhookhe Navik starts off with a situation in which three persons. Are asail on a ship which is devoid of any navigation devices with no shores in sight. They are the only 3 people aboard and have totally run out of any food supplies and are starving of hunger. Interestingly, the sea all around is assumed not to have any fish, on second thoughts. They decide to make chits and pick on from a hat. The. As they openly support each other...

My fitness fundaes: July 2005

http://nikeefitness.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 12, 2005. This post is going to tell people about my experiences with Endurance Training. Well! When I was back in college, I once decided to train for the famous 6.6 km race. 6.6 km was something. Then I gave it up and stepped on the tar. The campus had a lovely circular road measuring 2.65 km and I could only do around 1.5 kms when I started. But I gradually raised the bar to reaching the curb at the water purifying station and then finally started completing the lap. ...Which was an obvi...

Play replayed!: June 2005

http://playreplayed.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 23, 2005. What's in a Name! Unnamed Play ( I forgot the name). The entire essence of the play seems to be, Bookish knowledge is not everything in life, education acquired by alternative means is as important and could prove decisive if coupled with the right attitude . Not really a must watch, but the light comedy would go down well if you can stand the long and winding sentences of the octogenarian( also the anchor of the story ) which sometime bore you because of their inaudibility.

My fitness fundaes: June 2004

http://nikeefitness.blogspot.com/2004_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 09, 2004. When I went into a pre-anaesthetic check-up a week before an operation, the intern at the hospital told me that I had a low pulse rate. "Is that bad doctor"? I exclaimed. "No , not at all, its good in fact", retorted the doc. Is it that you take up physical exercise regularly"? Oh yes, I do! How can you not eat french fries! Yoga is hazardous if not done under a teacher" , "There are no open spaces around my house". " What can be more boring then running alone"? New Delhi, India.

Letters Home | We find after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us. – John Steinbeck

We find after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us. – John Steinbeck. May 15, 2012. We sit alone together in the dark wondering what the other one of us is like, knowing each other through touch like two blind women seeking each other out with their fingers. Already we build our sense of each other, limited and skewed, but we fill in holes with what we know and fear about ourselves. April 11, 2012. Settling in to this new season. Unfurling leaves after dark and rain. Took the tim...
