Adam Marshall's Music Blog. Ramblings about good music. Friday, September 08, 2006. Aren't Manic Cough brilliant. Did a great session on Marc Riley's Brain Surgery (Wednesday 6th September). What a way for a new show to start. In saw them (dressed as majorettes (see pic) at Truck Nine and just love their shambolic rough sound. They're a bit of a hoot too - especially the bassist Delia - which of course is very important. They've got a single out called Lips and Hips. You can also hear Eggs and Chips.

Things that jumped out at me today are. Subway Sect - Ambition (and Nobody's Scared for that matter). Young Marble Giants - Brand New Life. Metal Urbain - Paris Marquis. Colin Newman - SSSSStar eyes. Killing Joke - Eighties. Almost as brilliant as old punk is old reggae (from the same period), specifically. Agustus Pablo - Cassava Piece.
