The Turning Page: A Matter of Trust
http://theturningpage.blogspot.com/2010/05/matter-of-trust.html
A written record of the scuffles, rants and revelations of a 20-something searcher. Thursday, May 6, 2010. A Matter of Trust. Mawidge. Mawidge is what bwings us toogeva, tooday," (a quote from one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride). That said, marriage and the act of choosing a life partner has also found its way into the intimate corners of my heart and daily thoughts, being just three months away from entering the wedded state myself. My struggle is a one of trust. Do I love GC? So am I sure?
The Turning Page: We're down to days!
http://theturningpage.blogspot.com/2010/07/were-down-to-days.html
A written record of the scuffles, rants and revelations of a 20-something searcher. Friday, July 2, 2010. We're down to days! 43 days in fact! With each passing day, I am one step closer to MRS. Very weird. I have really loved the whole wedding process, probably due to the fact that it plays up my strengths, planning, crafting, planning, writing neatly, planning, more crafting. Apart from all the planning. The details will work themselves out. The people we love will be there, and for any family dram...
The Turning Page: Snow days
http://theturningpage.blogspot.com/2011/02/snow-days.html
A written record of the scuffles, rants and revelations of a 20-something searcher. Friday, February 25, 2011. Snow days as a grown up aren't quite what they used to be, are they? And then dance the night away at a Mad Men themed gala (you better believe I'm dressing up and wearing a bouffant! On Sunday, I'll petition heavily for a outdoor cross country skiing romp through the near by park. And then? Then I'll make myself a grown up hot cocoa (dark chocolate, milk, and a shot of. something! Or you might ...
The Turning Page: Personal History
http://theturningpage.blogspot.com/2011/02/personal-history.html
A written record of the scuffles, rants and revelations of a 20-something searcher. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. It's easy when you're busy living life to forget, to forget you've been building a history. I am pretty terrible when it comes to always looking for something more, something better, for diminishing the experience of my now by calling it not good enough. Not good enough for what, and for who? So, one point for going after important things. When a case of strep throat hit not 5 days before my tro...
The Turning Page: Like a kid at Christmas!
http://theturningpage.blogspot.com/2010/09/like-kid-at-christmas.html
A written record of the scuffles, rants and revelations of a 20-something searcher. Thursday, September 9, 2010. Like a kid at Christmas! My mini-laptop is here! Words cannot express how happy I am to have my own little machine dedicated nearly exclusively to the writing of blog post, trolling of Facebook, and other completely non-work related internet based activities. Oh! Long have I craved freedom from desktop cords and carefree trips to coffee shops and libraries, parks and airports with a laptop.

:: pause ::: Keeping Resolutions
http://raeannewright.blogspot.com/2008/01/keeping-resolutions.html
Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Nine days into 2008 and I'm feeling that What-the-hell-was-I-thinking? Thud in the back of my head. Somewhere between making the list of uber-ambitious goals for the new year and taking baby steps to begin accomplishing them I forgot to ask myself what was actually feasible, whether or not I could handle such a hiccup in daily life, and how I would tackle a day like today when the cumulative effects of my baby steps start taking a physical toll. Saturday, March 29, 2008. I was psyched today when I noticed that someone turned the lights out at Google: http:/ www.google.com/intl/en/earthhour/. Have you seen this? Earth Day is soon approaching, too, and I can't help but be excited and optimistic about these moments of reflection and realization that as the planet's only species capable of building up cities and mining resources, we can also care for the planet that gives us life. Yes, really, I mean it - who gives a shit whether Global Warming is a...
:: pause ::: Practicing Imperfection
http://raeannewright.blogspot.com/2008/09/practicing-imperfection.html
Monday, September 1, 2008. For as long as I can remember I've been a perfectionist. My father always reiterated to me that "if something's worth doing, it's worth doing right," words that still echo in my day-to-day life. Perhaps it was my tendency towards compulsive order and obsessive organization, but for some reason I interpreted those words as, "if something's worth doing, it's worth doing the best. I tend to want to control even the little stupid things that don't matter. Has life figured out.

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Send My Grandma to Italy. Always the coolest, Gram (second from left) parties with the girls at my sister's Bachelorette party in the spring of 2008. Two months ago, only weeks before my little sister's wedding, my family received some devastating news: my grandma, only 72 years old, had stage 4 cancer of the lung, liver, lymph nodes, and spleen. It was a slow, dreadful diagnosis with each new test revealing worse news. The prescription? I wouldn't let it go, and immediately st...

Sunday, October 5, 2008. Where did September go? September whirled by like a tumbleweed in a tornado. I was so busy-busy that I almost didn't notice autumn sneaking up on me. But now fall has finally descended upon the Northeast - the days are crisp and cool, the air smells damp and fresh, and the leaves are slowly making their colorful transition, scattering themselves across the earth, and painting my daily pathways. It's one of those events that you wait for your whole life. Natalie is my only sib...

http://raeannewright.blogspot.com/2009/01/10000-days-and-counting.html
Sunday, January 4, 2009. 10,000 Days (and counting). Last week I was doing research on a project for work when I stumbled upon a website (though not a design specimen by any means) that calculates your " Decimal Birthday. Something about that number hit me - that's a lot of days. Often, I still think of myself as young. And being 27 years old, I suppose in the grand scheme of things I absolutely am. How have I spent all of those days? Have I really lived and enjoyed each one? Bloated, tired, and still fe...

Thursday, March 26, 2009. Some weight off my shoulders. I've decided to take a pause from : pause: — permanently. My apologies to anyone that may actually be reading my blog. your attention is appreciated, and you are a rare gem in this world. Frankly, I have been too busy enjoying life to stop and write about it, and after 2 months of feeling a nag in the back of my head reminding me that I hadn't blogged in awhile, it occurred to me that, I really don't have. If I don't want to. About The Brave and the...
:: pause ::: Welcome, Change
http://raeannewright.blogspot.com/2008/11/welcome-change.html
Friday, November 7, 2008. This past month, for me, can be best equated with the Sky Coaster. The ride began last month, when after months and months of feeling the stir of change on the horizon, I found myself at a job interview at Overit Media. On Monday I collapsed. my body wrecked from the change train that just kept going. I took a day to rest and regenerate, but I could feel myself still swinging. The ride wasn't quite over. And then Tuesday came, and in one last wave everything converged like firew...

Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Summer, my oasis. I'm surfacing just for this quiet moment, in the space between finishing chores and getting some sleep, to report from the eye of the storm. Here it is, nearly mid-August, and I'm up to my neck in summer. the whirlwind of parties, weddings, film shoots, birthdays, late nights at the computer, concerts, sweaty yoga, and life. in all of its beautiful, sunny glory. Hot-tubbing and scoring pitchers of Red Bull with Mark and Courtney in Rochester. Watching Lewis Bla...

We are all artists, the painter of our picture, the writer of our journey, master of our reality. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. The house of belonging. I awoke this morning. In the gold light. Thinking for a moment. The veil had gone. It must have been the quiet. That filled my room,. It must have been. With which I breathed. Myself to sleep,. It must have been. The prayer I said. Speaking to the otherness. Of he night,. This is the good day. Meet your love,. This is the black day. To you could die. I sometim...
