http://tickngobirding.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tick 'n' go Birding. Saturday, 31 January 2015. Gunners park Essex for Serins. The day started well for Jimmy and myself when 4 Redpoll come into our garden and land on our feeders to give us a year tick, this goes along with the male Blackcap that came to see us in the garden a couple of days ago. The signs are not good when we are told that the bird has not been seem for a long time despite there being a fair number of people looking for it. Just a bad record shot. Sunday, 25 January 2015. We park up a...

http://tickngobirding.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tick 'n' go Birding. Monday, 31 August 2015. More of the Merlin. 5 Year ticks at Dunge plus a great Merlin at Elmley. Once again we head off early to Dungeness for the third week running, driving down towards the lighthouse it is completely different from last week with no birds apart from Gulls seen, after the influx that we saw last it's not looking to good for us as we knew before we set out that the weather was not in our favour for birds passing through up on the beach. A scan over by the power stat...

Tick 'n' go Birding. Saturday, 30 May 2015. Back to Fowlmere for Turtle Dove. Having dipped on Monday Jimmy and I set off to to put it right with another visit to the RSPB reserve at Fowlmere in Cambridgeshire. It's only 43 miles from home down the M11 and with no traffic about at this time of the morning we are soon parked up and walking down to the reedbed hide, as we near the hide we hear the first purring of a Turtle dove, a quick scan of the trees and we have another year tick in the bag. Only 30 mi...

Tick 'n' go Birding: July 2015
http://tickngobirding.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tick 'n' go Birding. Thursday, 9 July 2015. Great view of Quail in Cambridge. After waiting for a nice sunny day Jimmy and I make the decision to go to Orwell Cambs for the Quail instead of going to Pirton in Herts, the plan all week was to head to Pirton so we would be near enough to pick up the Montagu's Harrier on the way. As we see at least three maybe four with two really good flight views as well. We have to wait for while but a bird is seen just sitting on the edge of of a small open space and we ...

Tick 'n' go Birding: September 2014
http://tickngobirding.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tick 'n' go Birding. Monday, 29 September 2014. Nightjar at Middlesex filter beds, plus Dunge visit. Not to sure if we wanted to go birding at Dungeness or stop in to cheer on the boys at the Ryder cup. We think we can do both, so off we head to Dunge. First up we head up to the beach for some sea watching, the sea is calm and no wind blowing, so with nothing passing through and only a single Kittiwake plus some Gulls on the beach we head over to the trapping area. Friday, 19 September 2014. It took a bi...

Tick 'n' go Birding: October 2014
http://tickngobirding.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tick 'n' go Birding. Monday, 27 October 2014. A nice few hours spent at Wallasea Island. Being only 40 minutes from home we head to Wallasea Island and arrive at first light, a Rough-legged Buzzard has been reported and we hope to find it. On getting out of the car we find that it is a bit colder than we thought and the top coats soon go on. A local birder turns up and tells us he thinks that the reported Rough legged Buzzard is a bit of a red herring in he's opinion and we never get to see it while here.

Conservation with a smile. All things bright and beautiful, all creatures immense and minuscule! Monday, 26 March 2012. The butterfly gets its name from the only small white marking on the underside of its wing, which resembles a comma! A little drummer boy! Friday, 23 March 2012. I've been looking for a window of opportunity to set up a blog for some time, having been inspired by some very good local bloggers, who with the aid of some excellent camera equipment and fine written word, have made my enjoym...
