The View From Here. Newer posts →. When the day takes all of you. November 6, 2013. Interestingly, I bookmarked THIS. Nowadays, I’d rewrite that story there at the beginning a bit. And it’d definitely include vomit, diarrhea, losing consciousness, ridiculous wait times at the lab, a well-intentioned walk that takes an hour to get everyone dressed for because of the aforementioned vomit and diarrhea, and would probably also include something about prescription meds or lab results. Hey, good times! In soli...

The View From Here. November is a month…. Um, sigh. →. November 19, 2013. Ever notice the insane tendency people have to read into innocent things their or others’ kids do and attempt to predict the future? Kid throws a ball: oh, he’s going to be a basketball player! Kid draws: oh, she’s going to be such an artist! Kid mimics those around him: oh, he’s going to X! Kids mimic what they see. It doesn’t point to any sort of particular talent. The View From Here. Sending your sick kids to school/daycare. Just don’t do it. October 9, 2014. A recent conversation online went like this:. 8211; I sent my kid with a contagious virus back to daycare after a day because our pediatrician said it would be ok. 8211; huh. The CDC says that illness is contagious for at least several days up to a few weeks. 8211; What am I supposed to do? 8211; Well, yes, generally it’s good to keep people who you know have a contagious illness home. Sapidness: Facebook - Friend or Foe?

Thursday, March 17, 2011. Facebook - Friend or Foe? I seem to have this crazy love/hate relationship with Facebook. I feel this obsessive need to check in at every hour of the day. I say, "Oh, it's just a great way to keep up with old friends and family. It's a great way to meet the local people on this post.". People follow you around and post nasty things on your statuses. They post cryptic statuses to get attention, and usually the meaning behind is a dig or mean comment about someone else. Once A Mon...
Sapidness: October 2010

Thursday, October 21, 2010. I found this coolio menu board tute. I used a frame I already had. I bought a metal sheet at Lowes and some cute little cutters. Adan cut it down to size for me. We primed it and painted it with spray paint primer and spray paint chalkboard paint (found at Michaels). I popped it into the frame, and woila! Handy Dandy menu board. Of course since I have made it, I can't find chalkboard chalk ANYWHERE! Labels: Projects and Crafts. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Once A Month Cooking.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. I also made some non-grout type. They are just the flat bottom marbles from Walmart/dollar store. I got a huge amount of them on sale at Walmart when they ditched the craft department. I just glued them on. Done! ETA winter was not kind to these pots. Most of the marbles fell off. Different glue is needed. Labels: Projects and Crafts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Commercials - yikes and yay review. 101 Things in 1001 days. Once A Month Cooking. Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Friday, December 31, 2010. Jack arrived December 6th. Having kids. I had to suffer through baby showers and cuddles with a black hole in my heart. The View From Here. Random musings from a brain in midlife.you never know what you might find! Aug 15, 2015. Seeing In The Dark. Someone once said that faith is not a personal possession until you have suffered. That person understood that the very nature of faith requires the grit and courage to be in the dark so you can eventually see in the dark. Then faith becomes faith.
