Last year I grew accustomed to smaller sketchbooks due to their convenient size and weight for travel, yet there’s something really satisfying about drawing a piece that is ever-so-slightly larger. Although this sketchbook is only slightly larger than ordinary letter paper, it’s already a refreshing change from my usual 5.5 x 8.5″. Man oh man oh man… I wonder how January is gonna pan out. January 30, 2017. January 29, 2017. Maybe it seems a bit ridiculous, but writing “don’t worry about it” on the cover of this sketchbook actually helps me overcome sketchbook anxiety a wee bit. And at the moment, I really want to focus on my frequency of drawing, so in a way, every sketch feels like a small victory. Perhaps some time in the future I’ll write a longer post about this topic, but I’m not particularly in the best headspace at this very moment so I’m keeping this guy short. The Struggle is Real.
