In which I irregularly go on and on about flutes, music, WEAVING, spinning, fiber photography, RUNNING, family, work, life in general, and anything else that suits my fancy. Monday, February 16, 2015. What does pork smell like? Well, not much, turns out. Not ground pork, anyhow. No wonder there are mass quantities of seasonings in the meatloaf cooking away in the oven. Pork mince (in Brit parlance). Onions. Shrooms. With bacon on top. Fun blog, awesome recipes, and oh damn I forgot the nutmeg. So, pork s...

Stitches and Stories: New Journey

http://www.stitchesandstories.com/2015/07/new-journey.html

Welcome to the Stitches and Stories Blog, brought to you from the Sheep Shack. Sunday, July 5, 2015. I have joined the fitness center associated with our local health care system. This shall be an interesting journey. Day One - I worked out on some of the cardio equipment and walked laps on the indoor track. The Pros - I took the first step, and I walked into the gym, overweight and out of shape. The Cons - You would think the seats on the stationary bikes would be a bit more cushioned. You can do it.

Stitches and Stories: December 2013

http://www.stitchesandstories.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Welcome to the Stitches and Stories Blog, brought to you from the Sheep Shack. Thursday, December 19, 2013. The festivus season is upon us in full force, many take this time to reflect on another year past; books read and written, stash busted, mittens, hats, scarves, sweaters etc. knitted or crocheted. Miles jogged, pounds lost or gained. But I'd like to look to the next year, goals, aspirations and things to come. And I want to give a shout out to a new member over at Ravelry, screen name Traciene!

Stitches and Stories: Gardening

http://www.stitchesandstories.com/p/gardening.html

Welcome to the Stitches and Stories Blog, brought to you from the Sheep Shack. Well we are in the grip of a serious heat wave, and while the tomatoes enjoy a bit of heat and humidity it is a struggle to keep the garden watered. We have no rain in the forecast and the rain barrels are getting low. Still we have managed to harvest over twenty cucumbers this week, a handful of beans, and a few hot peppers, tomatoes, squash and one zucchini. It also seems to keep the rabbits away! What's in your garden?

Welcome to the Stitches and Stories Blog, brought to you from the Sheep Shack. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Don't go in for things that. Frilly and flowery. It is just always seems like "too much", but once in a while I find a style that does appeal to me. And today was just such a day. I was in Barnes and Noble. Today and found a pretty little monthly planner. There is a lot of pink, lilac, teal and gold leaf. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I live on a farm .

Caleb and Melissa's Life

Caleb and Melissa's Life. Saturday, May 9, 2009. As most of you all know Caleb asked me to marry him on Friday May 8th 2009! The intersection of agriculture, food, and place. More by This Writer. Peanuts still in the shell – ready for planting! The first batch of seeds that I ordered was consumed by a hungry mouse, so I made sure to put the next bag in the freezer. The seeds are actually peanuts in the shell; they have to be removed from the shell before planting. If the peanuts don’t thrive, I’ll plant something else instead.
