The Wakeman Journal

It happened in Ohio. Thursday, July 19, 2012. Sing, Sing, Sing About It. I thought I'd seen everything there was to see in Ohio. A lack of inspiration leads to a lack of blog posts, hence the long period of time since my last bit of writing on my time here in this great state. Even better was the band of old ladies with electric guitars semi-rocking out to Christian worship songs. The winner by far however was the guy singing "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera. He drew the biggest cro...

The Wakeman Journal: May 2012

http://www.thewakemanjournal.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

It happened in Ohio. Monday, May 14, 2012. I've been getting lazy. Mass Effect 3 has been in control of my life for the last few weeks and as a side effect I have not written as much in this blog as I intended to. So, no more laziness. Back to Wakeman. That's the question isn't it? Or rather, will I be going back to Wakeman? If you haven't heard of Mass Effect 3 then here, let me Google that for you. Ya, that's a long time. Much longer than I had intended on staying. So let's lay this out-. I want to mak...

The Wakeman Journal: Shortly After Midnight

http://www.thewakemanjournal.blogspot.com/2012/04/shortly-after-midnight.html

It happened in Ohio. Sunday, April 8, 2012. My Aunt Robyn passed away this morning. We're going to miss her greatly but are glad that she is no longer in pain. Most importantly, we consider it a true blessing and honor for her that God waited to take her on the same day that He conquered death. She ran the race well and we all look forward to seeing her again soon. And she is risen with Him. Labels: wakeman journal shortly after midnight easter Robyn Churchill He is risen. The Wakeman Journal: February 2012

http://www.thewakemanjournal.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

It happened in Ohio. Monday, February 27, 2012. View from the front porch. Location: Wakeman, OH 44889, USA. Ohi, O. See what I did there? I’ve been out of state for almost a week now and the difference between what life was like in California only days ago and what it is like here in Wakeman, Ohio is significant. At the moment we are without a vehicle so this first week has mainly consisted of work, home, and visits to the hospital to see my aunt. I’m sharing a room with my brother Cody again....So far ...

The Bard Next Door. Thursday, June 28, 2012. Review: The Newsroom Episode 1 - "We Just Decided To". Review by Randy May. First off, if you haven't seen the pilot for The Newsroom. That aired last Sunday, here's the trailer. If you're thinking, "Man that looks great! It's too bad I don't have HBO." Good news, HBO has made the first episode available for free right here. I'm gonna start off by saying two things. The first is that I love this show! Will be the greatest show on television right now. Sorkin i...

The Bard Next Door: Guild Wars 2 Review

http://thebardnextdoor.blogspot.com/2012/10/guild-wars-2-review.html

The Bard Next Door. Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Guild Wars 2 Review. Review by Daniel Nenadovic. Oi, it has been a long while since I wrote anything up for this here podcast blog site, hasn't it? But it's a testament to Guild Wars 2 that, despite all of the new awesome games, I keep coming back to it when I just want to have some fun. One big selling point? I've been playing it since release, and to put it simply: Guild Wars 2 is really fun. I'm not going to dive too far into details of the game her...

The Bard Next Door: Review: ParaNorman

The Bard Next Door. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Review by Daniel Nenadovic. On the Inquisitor class story yet, you should do that here. So, why do I need to tell you that you need to go see ParaNorman? I can't tell you that. See, while ParaNorman is a good movie throughout, what compels me to drive others toward this film are its final act and its final message. These are phenomenal, and I can't recommend them enough, but nor can I spoil them for you because that would weaken their effect. If any of the ...

The Bard Next Door: The Old Republic - Reflecting on the Inquisitor

http://thebardnextdoor.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-old-repulbic-reflecting-on.html

The Bard Next Door. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. The Old Republic - Reflecting on the Inquisitor. Article by Randy May. Let me start off by saying that this is less of a review and more of a reflection. I've been playing Bioware's MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) for several months now and I only recently got my first character to the level cap. I'm partial to single player games but because I'm such a fan of the Star Wars mythos, I couldn't help but be excited to take part. The Bard Next Door.

The Bard Next Door. Friday, August 31, 2012. First Impressions of Guild Wars 2. Article by Daniel Nenadovic. Instead, as you may have guessed by the title, I'm going to give you my initial impressions of Guild Wars 2. The game was insanely hyped before its release as something new and revolutionary to the MMO genre, but then pretty much every upcoming MMO is advertised just so. Does Guild Wars 2 live up to that level of hype? But they are still a grind. A grind that I rather enjoy. If, however, y...Switc...
