Over the years, Mom and Dad have had a timeshare on Fort Myer's Beach that has been source of great pleasure for every one. On this day the men went to the beach, John and I got to walk the beach for a while and got to see rays along the shore and we finished it off with a breakfast at Reese's, a favorite for many years. Mom is now using an advanced wheel chair that's more like a rolling bed for her comfort. She is no longer walking. 58 years ago she gave birth to a son named Clark - Thanks Mom! Weight loss is starting to become a concern as some days she will not eat well. It can take 90 minutes for hand feed her when she is willing. She still loves the chocolate and sweets! While Mom is not recovering from Alzheimer's disease, she has not decelined much since August. When I was there to feed her for lunch today she cleared the tray and was very active for several hours. On Mother's Day weekend, both my brother John and I were able to make a visit. Mom is fading according to the doctors and at this time her weight is under 100 pounds. Her actual birthday is Sunday, but we had her "friends" party today at 2 Crafty Chicks. A local art studio that has art classes for kids and also hosts birthday parties. We had a blast! Since I didn't have to clean my house, I had time to make this cake (and for the record, my house is still rather messy, but that cake was way fun to make! Happy Birthday to you!
